Make sure to set a name of "GNS3 VM", because a

PowerShell script will later expect to find that name

Open the PowerShell script and identify the set
commands

Set-VMProcessor -VMName "GNS3 VM" -

ExposeVirtualizationExtensions $true

Set-VMNetworkAdapter -VMName "GNS3 VM" -

MacAddressSpoofing On

The PowerShell script expects certain values (default

switch and name of "GNS3 VM"

Open PowerShell (as administrator) and run the

required commands

Set-VMProcessor -VMName "GNS3 VM" -

ExposeVirtualizationExtensions $true

Set-VMNetworkAdapter -VMName "GNS3 VM" -

that provides connectivity to the Management PC
running the GNS3 GUI

The GNS3 GUI will be installed & configured later

or open an SSH session to the GNS3 server IP address
to verify its operational status

Part II: GNS3 Client Install

Depending on the options selected, additional modules
such as WinPcap, Wireshark & SuperPuttymay be
installed

It will take several moments to complete the install. A

reboot is not required in order to complete the install.

The wizard ends with an option to launch GNS3

when the GNS3 setup wizard starts

Repeat the import steps for each desired model
Imported appliances will appear under the router
section

Create a new GNS3 project with

OS10 switches

Each OS10 switch consumes

approx. 4GB of RAM

Once the GNS3 project is

started, the OS10 appliance will
default to an automatic OS
install via ONIE

The OS10 appliances may take

10-15 minutes to install OS10 to
primary and secondary partitions
(depending on the hardware
assigned to GNS3)

Allocating an insufficient amount

of CPU resources may prevent
the OS from installing correctly

Allow a few minutes to pass

before attempting to login
