Warm-up For warm-up, ask students to reflect with their
6 minutes classmates what skills they found to be most valuable in
what they have learned so far in the entire course. Are
there any topics that have helped them in any other
classes? Take answers for a minute, and then let
students know that today they’ll be learning about the
page setup and print settings. Then, ask students to
answer the Warm-up questions in their Student Guide if
time permits. You can then review the answers on the
PPT slide.
Topic 1: Activity In this activity, you will open a discussion about why it
8 minutes is important to consider the page and print settings
before printing anything.
Topic 1: Try-it 1, 2 and 3 Use students’ responses and performance in the warm-
8 minutes up and discussion activity to help them decide which
level of the try-it activity they will attempt to edit a
workbook’s print settings.
Topic 2: Activity In this activity, you will ask the students how many
7 minutes methods there are to access the Page Setup dialog
box and what options are available in the dialog box
that are not available elsewhere. Students can work in
pairs or individually.
Topic 2: Try-it 1 and 2 Use students’ responses and performance in the warm-
5 minutes up and their responses in the activity to help them
decide which level of the try-it activity they will attempt
to edit the page setup of a workbook.
Wrap-up Ask students to answer the Wrap-up questions in the
6 minutes student guide. If you haven’t done so during the lesson,
mention there will be a capstone at the end of the
course (after the last cornerstone).
