conditions. See the Table.
Okay, nice!
What is Risk?
Risk is the chance or probability
that a person will be harmed or
experience an adverse health
effect if exposed to a hazard. It
may also apply to situations with
property or equipment loss
Chemical Hazards:
is any substance that can cause
harm, primarily to people. Any
chemical substance can result in
severe injuries if not properly
handled. Examples are bleach,
fumes, gasoline, chlorine, etc.
Electrical Hazard:
is a dangerous condition where a
worker could make electrical with
energized equipment or a
conductor, and from which the
person may sustain an injury
from shock? It is a potential for a
worker to receive an arc flash
burn, thermal burn, or blast
injury. With adequate safety
measures in place, every
electrical injury and fatality can
be prevented.
Ergonomic Hazard:
are the repetitive and forceful
movements of workers,
employers, and their families.
Examples are poor workplace
design, awkward body mechanics
or postures, and repetitive
movements.
Psychological Hazards:
relates to mental and behavioral
disorders.
Biological Hazards:
or biohazard is anything coming
from living organisms (i.e.,
pollen, fungi, animals, insects,
bacteria, and viruses). 7.
Physical Hazards are those
substances that threaten your
physical safety. The most
common types of physical
hazards are fire, explosion, and
chemical reactivity
