Course Name: Introduction to Human Computer Interaction


Course Code: HCI101 Credit Units: 3 units

Course Description:
This course provides an overview of the Computing Industry and Computing
profession, including Research and Applications in different fields; an
Appreciation of Computing in different fields such as Biology, Sociology,
Environment and Gaming; an Understanding of ACM Requirements; an Appreciation of
the history of computing; and Knowledge of the Key Components of Computer Systems
(Organization and Architecture), Malware, Computer Security, internet and Internet
protocols, HTML4/5 and CSS.

CLASS POLICIES:

✔ Classes will be done synchronous and asynchronous. Attendance is a must.


✔ Learners must join in the official google classroom and group chat, the
learner’s real name must use in order to be recognized properly. All updates/
announcements will be posted in google classroom and group chat.
✔ Observe etiquette during online classes, display proper decorum, and do not
share screenshots of class conversations, quizzes, examinations, and materials,
learners must observe proper behavior.
✔ Quizzes, class tasks, written examinations, and laboratory examinations will
be done online.
✔ All assign activities/tasks must be submitted in the given period. For late
submission, if there’s a valid reason, an extension is allowed.
✔ Don’t hesitate to ask for assistance/questions regarding the subject.
Consultations will be done via group chat or google classroom.
