Introduction Integrative Approach
Introduction :
In this module, you will discover that in your age there are situations you may encounter unknowingly can lead to harm. The
ways to protect yourself from danger are very important to learn about. As you finish this module, you ca guage yourself if
you can defend yourself and be of assistance in keeping others safe too. Keep going and as you can keep yourself
protected at all times!

Development Content-based Approach

Suggested time allotment: 25 minutes
1. Think of your favorite pet or a plant you want to take care of.
2. Draw your favorite pet or plant at the center of your clean sheet of paper.
3. Write down all the different ways to keep it safe around your drawing

Processing Questions:
1. How do you find the activity?
2. What were the challenges you encountered in taking good care of your favorite pet/ plant?
3. What have you learned in the activity that you can use in your daily living?

Engagement Activity- Based Approach


With the given example below, how can a Grade 5 learner like you protect oneself from harm or danger. Write your
answer in your notebook.
1. You are alone at home when somebody knocks at your door saying that he or she is a friend of your parents and wants
to come inside your house. What will you do?
2. A child in the neighborhood is saying not-so-good things about you according to one of your friends. What will you do?
3. Your barangay is on a localized lockdown due to quarantine protocols but your friends are still playing outside. What will
you do?
4. You have a Facebook friend request from somebody you do not know. What will you do?

HOTS ( Higher Order Thinking Skills) Approach

mature individuals. Our laws protect you from poverty, poor health care, nutrition, safety, and even in all forms of abuse that
can affect your total development. It is your right to be protected as a child.
