Defining what a work- life balance is, is conceptualizing how

Background everything at workplace goes hand in hand. Though, it
specifically meant for the weighing of deadlines prior to tight
schedules and passing it on time. It is actually how demanding
the situation is for the fair and just burdens to carry on. As stated
by Greg Daugherty (2021), Not everyone will have a choice in
the matter of course. Job loss, health problems, or family
responsibilities can disrupt the best- laid retirement plans,
forcing people out of the workforce sooner than expected.
Hence, if you’re fortunate enough to take control over when
you retire, it’s working thinking the feasible pros and cons
before making any decisions. Quezon City is one of the most
populous and dynamic cities in the Philippines according to
the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI, 2017). It is a hub for
institutions and jobs, making it an ideal place to study most of
the work-life balance at the workplace. The researchers would
like to have elementary educators from Quezon city as
respondents of this study. They will be selected based on their
background and location of their Institution. The respondents
must have at least 15 years o r more of
e d u c a t i o n a s a profession experience in their field of
work and must be in within Quezon city.
Purpose of the Study Understanding the mindset of educators in a certain area
can give important insights into how they think and behave,
which can help to guide policies and initiatives intended to
promote early retirement in that area. In this study, we will
focus on the reality of work- life balance of educators around

Quezon City, Philippines. Through this study, we aim to

determine the key factors that influence institutions and
decisions among educators in Quezon City.

We are third-year students at the Polytechnic

University of the Philippines - Quezon City campus,
and as part of the Thesis course, we will be
conducting research about “Influencing Early
Retirement for Work-life Balance of Public Teachers in
Selected Elementary Schools in Quezon City”.
Procedures of the Study Data-gathering for this study on the work- life balance
of public elementary school teachers will involve survey
questionnaires with respondents. A guided questionnaire
that contains close-ended questions will be utilized to allow
the respondents to share their experiences
and insights.
To recruit respondents, the researchers will identify
potential respondents by asking the selected elementary
schools within Quezon City with their Institution’s
permission, through referrals, and through social media
platforms. The researchers will then contact potential
respondents and provide them with information about the
study objectives and what their participation will entail. If
they agree to participate to the survey, respondents will have
the option to choose their preferred reliable time and date
then schedule will be arranged.
Then during the survey, the respondents will be
answering the prepared questionnaires in a four- level likert
scale. The researchers will utilize this to weigh the
respondent’s response. Each survey is expected to last for
approximately 5 – 10 minutes and the data collected will be
analyzed and used to identify the major challenges faced by
the public elementary school teachers in the workplace as to
influence them to retire early.

Benefits The researchers believe that the respondents will benefit from
this research as they are able to share their thoughts and
experiences about their work-life balance at the workplace
and how retiring early may influence them when it comes to
embracing opportunities, new experiences, and
perspectives.
Risks
The researchers ensure that there will be no risks in the process
of conducting this research.

Cost of Participation
This research does not have any provided incentive.

Payment or Remuneration
The researchers will provide the respondents their food
allowance, if necessary.
