WORKSHOPS & OTHER
SUPPORT FACILITIES
In Abu Dhabi, RMB operates two (2) concrete production facilities:
A. MINA BATCHING PLANT:
1. Mina production plant is having three (3) concrete batching plants with
total nominal capacity of 450m3/hr occupying area of 20,500m2 with a
storage capacity of 5,000 tons of aggregates.
2. RMB maintains a large workshop to do general services for the

batching plants and for mobile equipment.
B. MUSSAFAH BATCHING PLANT:
1. Mussafah production plant is having three (3) concrete batching plants

with total nominal capacity of 250m3/hr.
2. Mussafah is having a RMB central workshop for all the mobile and non-
mobile equipment and the production site is having a qualified team to
maintain the plants in good working conditions.
C. MUSSAFAH WORKSHOP FACILITIES:
1. Mussafah central workshop facilities comprising of 12,500m2 is located

in M15- Mussafah.

Purpose
The purpose of this section is to describe the inspection and testing
activities on concrete and concrete ingredients to guarantee compliance
with the project specification requirements:

Raw Materials Inspection and Testing
The inspection and testing of raw materials is carried out in three stages:
The raw materials suppliers at their premises carry out the first level of
inspection.
 The cement factory on a continuous basis is testing cement where a

weekly manufacturer’s certificate of analysis for every type of cement is
forwarded to RMB and record of the same is maintained.
 The manufacturer tests cementitious materials such as microsilica, fly
ash, slag and records of testing are maintained by RMB.
 Aggregates are being tested by the aggregate suppliers at the quarry to
confirm compliance of the aggregates properties to the British Standard
requirements (BS882).
 The manufacturers test various admixtures and a certificate of
conformity is delivered to RMB for every admixture delivery.
Note: Water used by RMB in concrete manufacturing is potable water
produced from desalination plants.
The second level of inspection is upon receiving the raw materials.
At this level, the following items are verified:

 Materials received as ordered.
 Visual inspection is carried out and in case of doubts, tests are
performed.
 Materials are discharged in the right storage locations.
 Record of visual inspection and copies of raw materials delivery notes
are maintained.
The third level of inspection is done through sampling and testing of raw
materials as follows:

by the approved third party laboratory, if required.

WORKSHOPS & OTHER
SUPPORT FACILITIES
In Abu Dhabi, RMB operates two (2) concrete production facilities:
A. MINA BATCHING PLANT:
1. Mina production plant is having three (3) concrete batching plants with
total nominal capacity of 450m3/hr occupying area of 20,500m2 with a
storage capacity of 5,000 tons of aggregates.
2. RMB maintains a large workshop to do general services for the

batching plants and for mobile equipment.
B. MUSSAFAH BATCHING PLANT:
1. Mussafah production plant is having three (3) concrete batching plants

with total nominal capacity of 250m3/hr.
2. Mussafah is having a RMB central workshop for all the mobile and non-
mobile equipment and the production site is having a qualified team to
maintain the plants in good working conditions.
C. MUSSAFAH WORKSHOP FACILITIES:
1. Mussafah central workshop facilities comprising of 12,500m2 is located

in M15- Mussafah.

Purpose
The purpose of this section is to describe the inspection and testing
activities on concrete and concrete ingredients to guarantee compliance
with the project specification requirements:

Raw Materials Inspection and Testing
The inspection and testing of raw materials is carried out in three stages:
The raw materials suppliers at their premises carry out the first level of
inspection.
 The cement factory on a continuous basis is testing cement where a

weekly manufacturer’s certificate of analysis for every type of cement is
forwarded to RMB and record of the same is maintained.
 The manufacturer tests cementitious materials such as microsilica, fly
ash, slag and records of testing are maintained by RMB.
 Aggregates are being tested by the aggregate suppliers at the quarry to
confirm compliance of the aggregates properties to the British Standard
requirements (BS882).
 The manufacturers test various admixtures and a certificate of
conformity is delivered to RMB for every admixture delivery.
Note: Water used by RMB in concrete manufacturing is potable water
produced from desalination plants.
The second level of inspection is upon receiving the raw materials.
At this level, the following items are verified:

 Materials received as ordered.
 Visual inspection is carried out and in case of doubts, tests are
performed.
 Materials are discharged in the right storage locations.
 Record of visual inspection and copies of raw materials delivery notes
are maintained.
The third level of inspection is done through sampling and testing of raw
materials as follows:

materials and concrete will be performed by RMB laboratories and verified
by the approved third party laboratory, if required.
