Workflow Process

The following Diagram depicts steps to follow for a System Refresh

Assumptions
Basis Assumptions
3 days of notice notification is required to prepare all pre-processing and to establish communication with customer.
Custom Jobs will be set to schedule to avoid any undesired run unless specified otherwise.
Customer is sharing desired Logical System Conversions for post-processing.
Sytem is not a Development environment. If so, Customer must specified so to do some extra steps to avoid losing versioning.
Model Distributions for ALE/EDI need functional team collaboration.
System Refresh is mainly based on SAP NW System Copy Guide.
Customer knows any user and password used in the system that got lost because of refresh activities or due to secstore.
A call with all parties involved shall happen to agree on a working plan and set expectations.
A backup of target environment should be in place in case of major issues while refreshing data. (Must be taken care by HEC)
Customer knows System Configuration and all business related matters.
Scope Exclusions
BASIS Exclusions
Any 3rd party tools for testing or any other purpose.
Single Sign On Reconfiguration. This is out of scope as per R&R.
All DB related matter such us backups, jobs and calendars are not part of AMS.
Any Non-SAP Environment and not hosted in HEC.
Archive Link is Customer Responsibility
Any impact of integration with other systems is not covered during refresh. All activities remains inside the system marked as our target system only.
Customer Information Required
Questions
Share any documentation from previous system refreshes you have had in your environment.
Specify any special consideration for system refresh.
List any critical configuration or setting desired to pay special attention to it.
How Many clients are going to be affected? Please list all the clients requiring backup of user master records.
After sytem copy, how many clients are to be created? Specify if any backup with a certain profile is required and source client.
Do Custom jobs should be allowed to run in target system? Or shall the jobs be restored?
Should Emails/Fax configured in target system?
If any 3rd party site certificate installed on system, please share the same to be imported.
Integration to any other SAP environment (Fiori, Portal, PI/PO, JAVA, BW, CRM, SCM, GRC, etc)
IS the system part of any CUA configuration?
Any System Replication in place?
Specify Logical System Conversions - if any other than SIDCLNT### from Source to Target.
Specify if any Content Repository is in use
List any Transport that is required to be imported after system has been refreshed.
Mention any special consideration for your environment that should be taken different than standard Activities.
Grant Access to productive clients for post-processing. Need to provide a user ID coming from source system.
Get a list of exclusion tables to be exported. It could be the case that customer does want to keep source data.
Share main contacts and escalation points for the process (HEC & Customer).
