MODERATOR: I am Ms. Grace Ann Venida as your moderator for today’s symposium entitled
Environmental Sustainability through Clean and Green Program.
MODERATOR: Before we proceed on the discussion. I would like to ask everyone to stand for
our opening prayer.
MODERATOR: Our opening prayer will be led by Ms. Rein Carla Liana Hugos.
•-•
MODERATOR: Now for the group of speakers, who came from Tongohin National High School
to share about the Environmental Sustainability.
MODERATOR:
Ms. Precious Fiona Orozco
Ms. Praised Ann Dawal
And Mr. Joshua De Leon
MODERATOR: Let us hear from Ms. Precious Orozco for her sharing.
AUDIENCE: *clap*
•-•
FIONA: Have you ever thought of your surroundings? Like, was it still like before? Was it like
“oh it has changed”?
FIONA: As for me, I think it has changed. Like a lot, from being green to being unclean
•-•
FIONA: So let’s do a little game called Join with Arrows, so what you’re going to do is just
connect the word to its corresponding icon by using the arrow.
FIONA: For example, the word forest is connected to the icon that looks like a forest. Let’s
start.
REIN: Oh the word solar panel must be connected to the icon that was on the left side.
FIONA: I heard someone got it right. So, yes it was correct. The solar panel goes here.
FIONA: And the last word whale is for the last icon left which was located at the right side.
FIONA: The speakers who are with me today will be discussing the following contents…
FIONA: A little trivia, there are more trees on earth than stars in the milky way. So let’s keep it
that way.
•-•
FIONA: So in order to keep our environment sustainable, we have to do the activities that are
related to the Clean and Green program for the next generations to experience all the benefits
of nature. This means a lot for them.
FIONA: So what is Clean and Green? We always say “Oh I participate in the Clean and Green
Program” “Oh Clean and Green Program keeps the environment sustainable.” But what is
Clean and Green?
•-•
FIONA: We are going to define Clean and Green and ways to maintain a Clean and Green
Environment.
•-•
FIONA: As we can see, it is a method that we can implement in our community to maintain the
cleanliness and orderliness of our environment.
FIONA: So, basically. It is a program wherein one can contribute to maintain an environment
clean.
•-•
FIONA: What is shown on the screen is the ways to maintain a clean and green environment
with the help of the government, and the citizens.
FIONA: First is utilization of renewable energy sources such as solar, wind and hydroelectric
power to reduce Carbon Footprint.
FIONA: In order to achieve reduction of carbon footprint we will be needing help from our
government to utilize these devices.
FIONA: What you’re going to achieve here is the minimization of environmental impact. The
practices such as recycling, composting, and proper disposal completes the implementation
of waste management.
FIONA: Have you ever realize that you’re damaging the earth by just riding a motorcycle? If
you have ever realize that, then why are you still doing it?
FIONA: My house is near the school where I am enrolled, so instead of riding a transportation
that uses gas I chose to walk to save money and to save the earth.
•-•
FIONA: Moving on to our contributions that talk about how individuals can contribute in
Clean and Green Program.
•-•
FIONA: As I said earlier, by simply walking to a near destination will help the environment. It is
one of the simplest contributions a person can do.
•-•
FIONA: Like, the 3Rs. Can anyone tell what the 3Rs are?
FIONA: These 3Rs refer to waste management, like reusing reusable bags instead of throwing
it away. The second R could be Reducing waste, or the consumption of water or electricity.
While the last R which is Recycle could mean recycling a water bottle into a vase. Something
like those.
FIONA: The second contribution is planting trees. By planting a tree, you can help the
environment be more greener.
FIONA: Using eco-friendly transportation is what I have said earlier like using a bike or just
walk to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
FIONA: Last but not the least, educating others would mean a lot for the environment. For
example, telling others how does segregation work. It makes a big difference.
•-•
•-•
FIONA: Why are we responsible for the environment? What is the reason or what are the
reasons rather?
•-•
FIONA: First, because we are living with it. We are the companion of the environment and the
environment is our companion. We are dependent to it, so we must care for it.
FIONA: Next is because a healthy environment is essential. Why we must be responsible you
ask? Because with a healthy environment, we are able to live, and we are able to be benefited
from them.
FIONA: Last factor why we are responsible for the environment is we are the ones destroying
it so we must be responsible for fixing it up.
FIONA: That was all for my part. Thank you very much.
AUDIENCE: *applause*

PRAISED: As Ms. Fiona discussed the introduction of green and clean technology, i will be
discussing the future trends, benefits of environmental sustainability, and the activities
related to ckean and green program.
•-•
PRAISED: So what are the future trends and advancements in clean and green program?
•-•
Praised: First is, the rise of natural and biodegradable brands which refers to companies and
products that prioritize using natural materials that are safe for both consumers and the
environment.
PRAISED: Second would be, non-toxic cleaning products are cleaning agents that are made
from natural ingredients that are safe for all.
PRAISED: The next one is, biodegradable packaging refers to packaging material break down
into natural elements, like reducing the use of plastic for packaging.
PRAISED: The last one is, environmental sustainability and conservation are essential
practices for ensuring the health of our planet and the well-being of future generations.
•-•
•-•
•-•
PRAISED: The first benefit is that it improves human health. By sustaining the agriculture it
aims to have a well harvesting and good environment, this will help in the availability of
nutritious foods that contribute to rich-nutrition, immune function, to prevent disease, or
reduce every kind of disease risk.
PRAISED: Next is healthier ecosystem, with a healthy ecosystem, it will help us and provide us
the need of services such as pollination, soil fertility, and climate regulation such as moderate
heat and heavy rainfall, which are essential in supporting our own lives.
PRAISED: The cleaner air and water is benefiting us to reduce exposure to harmful pollutants,
and encouraging us to have healthier lifestyles.
PRAISED: With a sustainable environment, don’t you think we will have a secured food for the
next days, weeks and years? Environmental Sustainability is beneficial to prevent us from
starving.
PRAISED: Our ecosystem will be preserved, protecting our ecosystem will benefit to our vital
resources, such as food, shelters, and breeding grounds, for native species and helps reverse
the loss of biodiversity.
PRAISE: With a sustainable environment we can protect a lot of endangered species and teht
can live for longer because we have forests, wetlands, grasslands, and coral reefs, to be a
place to live and provides safe havens for endangered species to thrive and reproduct.
PRAISED: We are able to promote natural resilience with our sustainable environment, this is
to reduce the possibility of sudden ecosystem collapse or irreversible change, and it will be
able to maintain the balance of the natural system.
PRAISED: Have you ever wondered that pollution could could be treated? We will have clear
air and avoid diseases such as cardiovascular disease, lung disease and many diseases if our
environment is sustainable.
•-•
PRAISED: The next content is the activities that are related to clean and green that is a
pathway to a sustainable environment.
•-•
PRAISED: So these activities are done within the framework of Clean and Green Program.
•-•
PRAISED:
•-•
JOSHUA: Good Morning, everyone. The importance of responsible use of natural resources
will now be discussed
•-•
•-•
JOSHUA: First is Sustainable Development, its concept is to meet the needs of the present
and its holistic approach considers environmental aspects of development.
JOSHUA: Next on the list is Environmental Preservation, it’s the prevention/protection of the
environment from destruction or extinction and helps maintain balance of ecosystems.
JOSHUA: Climate change mitigation is the third one, its the mitigation of climate change
through strategies like reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
JOSHUA: Next is Protection of ecosystem services, these are the benefits that humans obtain
in the ecosystem including the provisioning of food and water.
JOSHUA: The second to the list is econonic benefits, these benefits contributes to the overall
well being of humans as its crucial role plays to support human societies and economies.
JOSHUA: Lastly, reduction of waste and pollution. Source reduction and recycling can reduce
the amount of wastes generated. This includes promoting reusable materials for processing
and reuse.
•-•
•-•
JOSHUA: By future outlook, we mean what we are expecting to happen in the future. Like
what our are expectations in the future with the Clean and Green Program occurring.
•-•
JOSHUA: We expect the environment to be sustainable for the next generations. With the
Clean and Green Program, we are able to keep the environment sustainable and maintained.
JOSHUA: The activities that are related to the Clean and Green Program might be the
pathway to a sustainable environment.
•-•
JOSHUA: As by Robert Swan, an author said that “The greatest threat to our planet is the
belief that someone else will save it.”
JOSHUA: It indicates that we, we must be the ones to save the planet and not anybody else.
•-•

•-•
MODERATOR: Now, let us invite all of our speakers to answer questions from our panelists.
•-•
CHRISTIAN: How effective has the Clean and Green program been in promoting
environmental sustainability within local communities?
FIONA: We, as a residents in our local community. We have seen improvements around, like
the waste management practices. It has been occuring ‘til now, so we thought it is effectively
promoted here in our local community.
PRAISED: People are also slowly being aware of the importance of a greener environment as
we are experiencing an intense heat.
ROCHELLE: How does the Clean and Green program incorporate education and awareness
initiatives to inspire behavioral change and encourage individuals to adopt more sustainable
lifestyles?
JOSHUA: In Clean and Green Program, it naturally aims to educate people to inspire them to
change their lifestyles into a better living. In Clean and Green Program, it teaches people how
to naturalize the behavior of caring for the environment.
FIONA: In addition, not only the Clean and Green Program teaches but it also fascinates
people about a greener and healthy environment. In that way, this program can attract
people into joining and experience this desired environment.
PRAISED: Rather than doing the activities to promote environmental sustainability through
clean and green program, I must say that we can also promote it by letting them see what is
the future if our environment is sustainable.
MODERATOR: I would like to express my gratitude towards the speakers who really did a great
job of sharing informations. I have become more educated. I am glad to be here listening to
their talk earlier, I am amazed that some people actually care for our environment. For that, I
guarantee this Certificate of Appreciate to Ms. Precious Fiona Orozco, Mr. Joshua De Leon, and
Ms. Praised Ann Dawal.
