1.1 Using the FSE Parameters window

1. At the Customize menu, select System Setup, then select Tools Modify.
2. After a moderate delay, the Modify Tools list appears.
3. Double-select FSE Parameters.
4. Type the password BØØMFSEA (letters must be uppercase), then select OK or press
Enter.
5. At the File menu, select Load. Now, select WST.INI, and then select OK or press En‐
ter.
6. While all the parameters appear in the window, you can only change those parame‐
ters preceded by a hyphen (-).
7. To change an editable parameter:
8. Find the parameter you want to edit. (Press ± to get the next editable parameter, or
press to get the previous one.)
9. In the parameter value text box, type the new value, then select OK or press Enter.
10. Continue for each parameter you want to edit.
11. At the File menu, select Save.
12. At the File menu, select Exit.
13. When the Modify Tools list appears, select Exit or select another tool.

FOR "RATIO" TEST field on the Customer
Parameters window.
Uiw_Result_Report_Header=< Select the character that indicates the
end of the subheader in the result re‐
port parameter files. Any text preceding
this character appears in the heading on
each page of the printed report.

1.4 Setting up the metering manager

1.4.1 To Set Up the Metering Manager

1. Use FSE Parameters in Tools Modify to edit the WST.INI file parameters as follows:
MeteringManager_Open = Y
Metering_Management = Y
Metering_Management_NewResultOnly = Y
2. Set the system to back up the Metering Manager data during the End of Day backup
procedure.
a) Exit the ADVIA software.
b) Log in to Windows using a field service password.
c) When the ADVIA Shell opens, select Explorer.
d) In Explorer, double-select the icon for the WST file.
e) Double-select the icon labeled Dic.par.
The Open with dialog box opens.
f) Scroll down the list of programs and select NOTEPAD.
g) Select OK.
h) When the document Dic.par opens, type Histo.dat on a new line.
i) At the Notepad window File menu, select Save.
j) Close Notepad and restart the ADVIA system.
3. Log on and begin normal system operation.
The Tools list will include Metering Manager in both View and Modify.
C IMPORTANT
You cannot use the Metering Manager window until you have run at least one sample on
the system. If you try to open the window before you have run a sample, the system will
display an error message.

1.5 Resetting the metering manager Cumulative report

1.5.1 To Reset the Cumulative Report

1. View the Cumulative Report.
2. (Optional) Select Print on the File menu to print a copy of the Cumulative Report.
3. Select the parameters you want to reset. Click the first entry you want to delete and
do one of the following:
- Hold down the Shift key while you click the last consecutive entry you want to de‐
lete.
- Hold down the Ctrl key while you click each additional entry you want to delete.
4. At the File menu, select Reset.
A password box appears.
5. Enter the password RESET (use all capital letters) and select OK.

1.6 Changing the decimal separator transmitted to the Host

Computer
The decimal separator is normally specified in Windows Regional Settings. Sites can over‐
ride that setting and transmit a different character if they use Host Spec. 79 protocol for
data transmission to the LIS

1. Shut down the ADVIA software.

2. Log on to Windows using a field service password.
3. At the ADVIA Shell, select Explorer.
4. At the View menu, select Details.
5. At the View menu, select Options.
6. At the View tab, uncheck Hide file extensions for known file types. Select OK.
7. In the directory C:\Wst, double-click the Lis.ini icon The file will open in Notepad.
8. Place the cursor under the last line, Host_Delay_Before_Retry=0.
9. Type Host_Decimal=<character> and press the Enter key. This is the line that speci‐
fies the new decimal separator.
10. Type Host_Thousand=<character>
C IMPORTANT
The characters you enter for Host_Decimal and Host_Thousand must not be the
same.
Example: If you want the decimal separator to be a comma, the last lines of the Lis.ini
file should look like this:
Host_Delay_Before_Retry=0
Host_Decimal=,
Host_Thousand=.
11. At the File menu, select Exit. At the message Do you want to save the changes, se‐
lect Yes.
12. Close Explorer and restart the ADVIA software.

1.7 Configuring formula (ratio) in TDC test dictionary

1.7.1 Report Lymphs (Lymph + LUC)

1.7.1.1 Configure Test Dictionary

The following is an example of adding a calculated ratio test:

1. At the Customize menu select System setup and then select Tools Modify.
 The Modify Tools list appears.
2. Select Test Dictionary.
3. Type the name of the sum (LY+LU) in the Code field and then press Enter.
4. Select WB in the Type field.
5. Leave the Test Number field blank.

 A test number is not added when performing a ratio test.

6. Type the next available host number in the Host Number field.

 The host number should be set to an available host number that is being used by the
site. Host numbers 21 and 15 are not available if the defaults are being used.

7. Select sum of lymph and luc in the name field.

8. Select the Auto Request check box.
9. Type [%LYMPH]+[%LUC] in the Formula field.
10. Select Ok to save settings.

1. At the Customize menu select Tools Modify and then select Table Dictionary.
 The Modify Tools list appears.
2. Select Other and then select ?.
3. Select WB.
