PERSONAL STATEMENT

I grew up in Kashmir, a war-torn territory sandwiched between the two countries, so I am


familiar with the relentless cycle of violence. Internet and communication connections are
frequently disrupted, which has hampered my education over time. My interest in technology
stems from my experience with technological deprivation. My interest in algorithms was piqued
after listening to a podcast called 'Rabbit Hole.' It explains the YouTube recommendation
algorithms as well as how the internet can serve as an escape for some people. Computer science
has an impact on every aspect of our life, from banking to animated films and video games to
databases, and its relevance is only increasing. I wish to contribute to the advancement of
computer science in the future. To further my skills, I would like to learn how to create advanced
software to solve real-world problems.

Since my early educational years, my interest in computers, machinery, and mathematics has
grown. My analytical skills in computer science have improved as a result of my high school
math studies. Calculus principles will aid me in solving technical difficulties and numerically
computing derivatives and integrals. It is based on the concept of mathematical induction, which
is widely used in computer science. In this fast-paced world of technical breakthroughs, where
new theories and applications emerge every day, I aspire to achieve the highest degree of
brilliance and expand my horizons in the fascinating subject of computer science.

On Udemy, I completed the "Python 3 Bootcamp - From Zero to Hero" course. The programme
began with objects and data structures and progressed through object-oriented programming and
the completion of the games tic tac toe and blackjack on Jupyter Notebook with the help of a
coded notebook. The course also introduced me to several real-world activities, such as web
crawling and PDF file manipulation. 'Computer Science: A Very Short Introduction' by Subrata
Dasgupta has improved my understanding of algorithms and programming as a computational
artefact. It has introduced the other side of programmes as a means of self-expression to create
something critical and unique. Computational thinking has prompted me to consider different
concepts.

Simultaneously, active participation in a variety of extracurricular activities has secured my


personal development. I relish spending time on the football field. Throughout my life, I have
participated in sports competitions at various levels. I have won numerous competitive
competitions, including the Chinar Cup, which was my city's first football championship held
under floodlights. I have also competed in football tournaments at the state level. Football has
sparked an interest in logical patterns and structure in me. In addition, I was a part of the cyber
crew's tech event at my school. It gave me a clear picture of the possibilities and introduced me
to the various sections of the industry, such as robotics and web development. The quadcopter's
assembly and operation were discussed and shown, and I learnt about the fundamentals behind
creating innovative online platforms. Through these activities, I met diverse people which
encouraged me to develop my communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.

Post the completion of my intended Bachelor's Course, I aspire to work as a Software Engineer
in a prominent organization, where I could contribute massively through my knowledge and
experiences. I believe that after gaining significant knowledge from the University, I will be
competent enough to impart exhaustive training and deep knowledge to my peers back home. I
have strong key skills such as effective communication, multi-tasking, analytical approach,
strategic planning, and critical thinking, which are prerequisites to this discipline. I am also keen
to participate in several student clubs and organizations that will help me imbibe strong values
and social skills. The Bachelor's of Computer Science course will surely add colors to my career
and make my profile entitled enough to fly above the sky.
