Enhance System Performance


a. Adjust Power Settings

• Windows:
o Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options.
o Select High performance for better performance, or Balanced if you need a
compromise between performance and energy efficiency.
• Mac:
o Go to System Preferences > Energy Saver.
o Adjust the settings based on your needs, such as enabling Automatic graphics
switching for better performance.

b. Increase Virtual Memory (Paging File) (Windows Only)

• Go to Control Panel > System and Security > System.


• Click on Advanced system settings on the left.
• Under the Advanced tab, click Settings under Performance.
• In the new window, go to the Advanced tab and click Change under Virtual
Memory.
• Uncheck Automatically manage paging file size for all drives.
• Select your drive, choose Custom size, and enter the Initial and Maximum size values
based on your system’s RAM (typically 1.5x the RAM for the initial size and 3x for
the maximum).

c. Defragment Hard Drive (HDD Only)

• Windows:
o Open Defragment and Optimize Drives by typing it in the start menu.
o Select your hard drive and click Optimize.
• Mac:
o Mac OS generally handles defragmentation automatically. Consider
optimizing your storage using the steps under Manage Disk Space.
