AKLAN STATE UNVERSITY HYMN

At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:


1. Memorize the lyrics of the ASU hymn.
2. Sing with honor and pride the university hymn.
3. Relate the values of the song as to a student of AKlan State University.

Aklan State University (ASU) in Filipino: Pamantasang Pampamahalaan ng Aklan is a state


university in Aklan province, Philippines. This institution was founded in 1917 as the Banga Intermediate
School, which became the Capiz Farm School the following year. Ten years later, the farm school turned
into a secondary rural school. Then, through the Republic Act No. 3439, the Banga Rural High School
became the Aklan Agricultural College (AAC) in 1963. The college was again renamed in 1992 as the Aklan
State College of Agriculture (ASCA) and had four other Aklan colleges integrated into the institution in 1999.
ASCA earned its state university status in 2001 through the Republic Act 9055.
At present, ASU has five campuses, namely Banga, Kalibo, Ibajay, Makato, and New Washington.
The main campus in Banga houses five departments offering both undergraduate and graduate
courses: College of Agriculture, Forestry, and Environmental Science; College of Teacher Education;
School of Management Sciences; School of Arts and Sciences; and, School of Veterinary Medicine.
