Name of the Activity An Activity Completion Report on National Learning Camp
Date July 01- July 19, 2024

Objectives 1. To improve learners’ numeracy and literacy and


strengthen the education sector’s learning recovery.
2. To help improve learning and support teachers so they can
teach better.
3. To close learning gaps and assist K to 12 learners in
attaining learning standards.

Highlights of the Activity In support of the MATATAG Basic Education Agenda and in
partnership with the National Learning Recovery Program
(NLRP) the following activities were held during the National
Learning Camp throughout the 2023-2024 End of School Year
break:

 KAWAYAN ES during the National Learning Camp


consisted of three (3) volunteer teachers and twenty six
(26) intervention camp learners.

Week 1,Day 1 was the District-based re-orientation on the


National Learning Camp (NLC), gathering teacher volunteers,
school heads, and facilitators in a concerted effort to enhance
educational practices. This one-day event served as a cornerstone
in preparing educators for their roles in the NLC, a vital initiative
aimed at improving instructional methods and fostering
collaborative learning environments. Through a carefully
structured agenda that included informative sessions and practical
demonstrations, participants gained invaluable insights and
strategies to optimize their teaching approaches in Reading and
Numeracy for the Intervention, Enhancement and Consolidation

Camp. Day 2-4 activities were centered on teacher-learner
engagement on rapport building, diagnostics, assessments and
personalized learning pathways. Intervention camp learners were
given interactive games and discussions addressing their specific
needs. Day 5 was Teachers’ LAC or the so- called collaborative
review of instruction based on the 3 days activities of the learners.
Collaborative expertise was held at the School Head’s Office with
LCVs present and the School Head. The session was undertaken
to:

 Analyze the effectiveness of the instruction and strategies


implemented during the 3-day activities of the learners.
 Identifying what worked well and what could be improved
through active participation in discussions with fellow
teacher volunteers and the school head.
 Share insights and best practices and learn from other's
experiences and perspectives to gain a deeper
understanding of effective teaching methods.
 Reflect on how the lessons learned this week can be
integrated into each LCVs own practice.
 Plan actionable steps to enhance instructional techniques
for the upcoming week.

1. Personal Organization of Ideas and Feedback

Overview: The session commenced with each participant


organizing their ideas and providing feedback on lesson contents,
components, and learning specific to their subject and grade. This
individual reflection helped in aligning personal insights before
moving to collaborative discussions.

Key Points:

 Lesson Contents: NLC volunteers reviewed the scope


and sequence of the lessons, highlighting areas that were
particularly effective and those that needed improvement.
 Components: Discussion on the different components of
the lessons, such as instructional materials, activities, and
assessments, was conducted.
 Learning: NLC volunteers shared their personal learning
and how the lessons have impacted their teaching
methods.

2. Collaborative Discussions and Sharing about Lessons

Overview: NLC volunteers engaged in collaborative discussions
to share their insights on lesson contents, components, and
learning.

Key Points:

 Content Analysis: Collaborative evaluation of the


content's relevance, appropriateness, and alignment with
learning objectives.
 Component Effectiveness: Sharing of which components
(e.g., group activities, multimedia resources) were most
effective in engaging intervention camp learners.
 Learning Outcomes: Discussion on the learning
outcomes achieved and any adjustments needed for future
lessons.
 Key Observations: Notable observations such as
learners’ engagement levels, challenges faced, and
innovative teaching strategies.

3. Collaborative Discussion on Learners' Performance

Overview: The focus shifted to discussing learners' performance,


examining their abilities, processes used during lessons,
interesting occurrences, and teacher learning.

Key Points:

 Learner Abilities: Analysis of learners' strengths and


areas for improvement.
 Processes Used: Discussion on the different processes
and methods students used to complete tasks and how
these can be optimized.
 Interesting Occurrences: Sharing of noteworthy
incidents or breakthroughs in learners’ learning.
 Teacher Learning: Reflections on what teachers learned
from learner interactions and performances.

4. Collaborative Discussion with Teachers

Overview: Teachers collaborated to delve deeper into their


specific teaching experiences and challenges.

Key Points:

 Specific Challenges: Identification of common challenges


faced and brainstorming solutions.

 Specific Strategies: Sharing of effective strategies and
resources tailored to the subject matter.
 Peer Support: Building a support network among
teachers to foster ongoing collaboration and mutual
assistance.

5. Collaborative Discussions with Teachers across Literacy


and Numeracy.

Overview: The discussions expanded to focus on Literacy and


Numeracy, offering a broader perspective on teaching practices
and learner learning.

Key Points:

 Insights: Sharing of insights and strategies that can be


applied in grade levels.
 Interdisciplinary Approaches: Exploration of
interdisciplinary teaching methods and how literacy and
numeracy can be integrated for holistic learning.
 Diverse Perspectives: Gaining new perspectives from
colleagues teaching Literacy and Numeracy enriching the
overall teaching approach.

6. Insights and Closure

Overview: The session concluded with a wrap-up discussion


where teachers summarized their insights and reflections from the
day's collaborative activities.

Key Points:

 Summary of Learning: Teachers summarized the key


learning and takeaways from the discussions.
 Action Plans: Development of action plans to implement
the discussed strategies and improvements.
 Future Collaborations: Planning for future collaborative
sessions and establishing goals for ongoing professional
development.

Conclusion: The collaborative expertise session at the School


Head’s Office was a productive and insightful event. It provided a
platform for teachers to reflect on their practices, share
experiences, and collaboratively develop strategies to enhance
learner’s learning outcomes. The discussions fostered a sense of
community and continuous improvement among educators,
setting the stage for ongoing professional growth and

development.

 Week 2 on day 1 was focused on collaborative planning


and preparation. Personal reading of LRs and
collaborative discussion and sharing were taken into
account. Day 2-4 again were centered on teacher-learner
involvement.Learners were given worksheets to be
answered which emphasized on literacy and numeracy
activities. Days 5 was Teachers’ LAC Session again.
Teachers reflected the previous week’s effectiveness,
shared learners’ feedback and adapted teaching strategies.

 Week 3 on day 1 was again purely on collaborative


planning and expertise day among LCV volunteers in
preparation for the 3-day teacher-learner engagement and
culmination activity for the intervention camp learners.
Day 2-4 were purely answering on the different tasks on
numeracy and literacy to improve their skills on the said
activities.
Day 5 was the culmination program of the National
Learning Camp. Learners were given certificates of
participation as well as the teachers. The said activity was
productive and successful as well.

Results/Output
 The National Learning Camp (NLC) was an opportunity
for both teachers and learners to engage in a unique
learning experience.

 The National Learning Camp activity throughout the


2023-2024 End of School Year break was successfully
conducted with the cooperation of the learners and the
teachers as well.
