1- INTRODUCTION

Recall SIP is a unit designed specifically to record all calls made using SIP devices.

It is composed of:
- Ethernet Switch (100 Mb 8 Ports), with MIRRORING.
- Software to configure the unit and to create the database.
- Software to manage the recordings.

The number of recording channels available with Recall SIP may be upgraded with
the purchase of further licenses.

2- INSTALLATION

2.1 Hardware Installation


The following elements must be connected:
• Switch
• Recall Server PC (2 LAN cards)
• PBX
• SIP Extensions

Switch (8 Ports)
The switch is configured by default, so it not necessary to make any further
configuration. The connections should be made as follows:
• Connect Port 8 of the switch to one of the LAN cards in the Recall Server PC.
• Connect Port 1 of the Switch to the LAN port of the PBX.
• Ports 2, 3 and 4 must be free. These ports should not be connected to anything.

Recall Server PC:


This PC is equipped with two LAN cards.
• One of the LAN cards must be connected to Port 8 of the switch.
• The Second LAN card must be connected to the Internal Network.

SIP Extensions
The SIP Extensions must be connected according to the instructions given by Jusan
during the installation.

2.2 Software Installation


Insert the CD provided and wait a few seconds until the following screen appears.

If the above screen does not appear automatically select Run from the “Start”
menu and type “X:\Bin\Setup.exe” (where X is the CD-ROM unit)

Select the language to use. The following screen appears.

Click “Install Software”.

Note: It is imperative that Framework .NET v2.0 is installed in the server PC before
beginning installations. This may be installed by clicking the link indicated on the
above screen.
Once Framework .NET v2.0 is definitely installed, click “Recall SIP”. The following
screen appears.

The Recall SIP software is made up of 3 components: SQL Express and Recall
Server MUST be installed in the same PC (Server PC). The server PC must run a
Windows XP, Win2003, Windows 7 or Win2008 operating system and it is
recommended to be a dedicated PC with hard disk capacity in accordance with
recordings storage requirements (e.g. 1 GB provides storage space for approx. 16
hours of uncompressed recordings, or 256 hours of compressed recordings).

The third component, “Recording Manager”, may be installed in the server PC or in


any other PC in the same LAN. (See Section 3)

2.2.1 SQL Express Installation

Before installing the “Recall Server” software, Microsoft SQL Express must be
installed on the Server PC.

DO NOT install SQL Express if Microsoft SQL Server is already installed.

• Make sure there are no applications running in the PC.


• Click the SQL Express button.

Installation will then begin and may take a few minutes. Once SQL Express has been
installed continue with the installation of Recall SIP Server.

2.2.2 Installation of the “Recall Server SIP” Software


• Make sure there are no applications running in the PC.
• Click on ”Recall SIP Server”

• Select the language desired and click ”OK”.

• Click Next to continue and the Destination Location screen appears.

• Click Next to install the Recall Server files to the default selection shown on
the screen.
• To change the default selection click Browse…, navigate to the desired folder
and click OK followed by Next to continue. The following screen appears.

• If this is a new installation and you have just installed SQL Express then
select “SQL Server 2005” and click Next.

Note: Only select “Previous to SQL Server 2005” if a version prior to SQL Server
2005 had already been installed. For example this may occur if a previous version of
Recall had been installed in the server PC

• Click Next to accept the name of the database to which the Recall SIP Server
will connect.

• After a few seconds the final installation screen will appear. Select “Yes” to
reboot the server PC immediately or select “No” to reboot later.

• Click on Finish to finalize the installation.

3 - RECORDING MANAGER

Recording Manager is application software designed specifically for the management


of recordings made using Recall models.

• Click the “Recording Manager” button to install this software from the CD.

For instructions regarding installation and use of this software please refer to the
“Recording Manager Installation and User Guide”.

Appendix - ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION

Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE Directive)

The European Union (EU) Directive on WEEE (waste from electrical and electronic
equipment) is intended to protect the quality of the environment and human health
through the prudent use of natural resources and the adoption of waste management
strategies that focus on recycling and reuse.

This product is marked in accordance with European Directive 2002/96/CE of the


European Parliament and of the Council of the European Union dated 27 January
2003 (known as the WEEE directive “Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment”).

In the European Union, this symbol indicates that when the last user wishes to
discard this product, it must be sent to appropriate facilities for recovery and
recycling.

By not discarding this product along with other household-type waste, the volume of
waste sent to incinerators or landfills will be reduced and natural resources will be
conserved.

To locate a recycling / disposal site near you, contact your local city recycling
program, your regular waste disposal service or the agent from whom the purchased
was purchased.
