ABSTRACT

Facial recognition technology has advanced significantly, impacting security, biometrics,

and human-computer interaction. However, recognizing faces from low-resolution images
remains a challenge. This paper proposes methodologies for facial recognition on low-
resolution images. Using deep learning, including convolutional neural networks (CNNs)
and generative adversarial networks (GANs), we enhance feature extraction and
reconstruction. We explore data augmentation and image enhancement techniques to
mitigate noise and distortion. Through extensive testing on datasets, we demonstrate the
effectiveness of our approach. This project aims to address the challenge of enhancing
image resolution through the application of advanced deep learning techniques. Image
resolution enhancement is a critical task in various domains, including medical imaging,
satellite imagery, surveillance, and photography.

Keywords: Image super-resolution, diffusion models, deep generative models, image-to-

image translation, denoising process, iterative methods, face recognition
