Martin Heidegger

-September 26, 1889 to May 26, 1976 (86 y/o)

-German Philosopher

-He has a groundbreaking record in ontology and metaphysics

For him Philosophy is:

-very broad that it is widespread or infinite

Ontology

-Study of being/existence

Heraclitus

-Born on 540 BCE died C. 480

-"No man ever steps in the same river twice for it's not the same river and he's not the same man"

Philosophy

-analyze the question before answering

-we don't look for fast and easy way.

-we must be careful and consider possible opinion

-Came from the word Philosophia which goes back to the word Philosophos. it is presumably coined by
Heraclitus

Proper cohesion- means looking for the direction of the question

Aner Philosophos - he who loves the sophon


Correspondence - accord with the sophon

Accordance - is Harmonia

Sophon/Sophia - wisdom

Philos/Philia - Love

Justice - giving the other what is due to him

-requires reflection critical, holistic, committed
