IPECS and SIP Inet Setup Guide v1.2
Configuration
Guide
for
iPECS
and
Inet
SIP
trunks
Enter your Inet account username and password in the login page shown below.
After successful login the following Welcome page will be shown:
From
the
left
hand
pane
select
Features
and
then
Telephone
Lines.
The
following
page
will
be
displayed
showing
the
user’s
account
number.
Select Telephone Line (86619154), the following page will be displayed.
Enter
the
fixed
public
address
used
by
the
remote
host
that
you
will
be
registering
to
the
telephone
line,
in
the
field
‘Only
allow
from
source
IP
address’.
This
is
an
important
security
feature
that
ensures
only
calls
originating
from
this
IP
address
will
be
accepted
by
Inet.
Note: ensure that the remote host ip address is static
In
the
Status
section
you
can
check
the
registration
status
of
the
line.
Registered
from:
shows
the
Telephone
line
number
and
IP
address
of
the
remote
system.
Last
registered:
shows
the
date
and
time
that
the
iPECS
last
registered
with
the
Telephone
line.
Contact:
shows
the
Telephone
line
and
iPECS
public
address.
Model:
shows
the
iPECS
model
number
and
software
version.
Last
called
number
and
last
caller
number
with
their
date
and
times
are
shown
Send called number as request URI: set to ‘Yes (use with Gateways only)’
Callerid
on
external
calls:
This
is
the
CLI
number
sent
on
outgoing
calls
from
iPECS.
The
options
provide
are:
withheld,
original,
original
(must
own
the
number),
or
from
a
list
of
fixed
numbers
for
the
Telephone
line.
If
the
user
want
to
assign
different
DDI
numbers
according
to
the
extension
number,
set
this
to
‘original’.
The
Number
settings
page
below
does
not
usually
need
to
be
changed.
The
default
destination
is
set
to
‘Telephone’,
circled
in
red;
this
is
where
the
iPECS
is
registered
from.
The
details
for
this
are
shown
in
the
Telephone
line
registration
status.
When
the
hardware
installation
is
complete
connect
to
the
router
by
entering
the
default
web
address
http://192.168.1.1
in
the
browser.
Enter
user
name,
admin
and
password,
admin
to
enter
administration
mode.
Enter
the
login
password
on
the
field
of
New
Password
and
retype
it
on
the
field
of
Confirm
Password.
Then
click
Next
to
continue.
This
will
be
used
to
access
the
web
interface.
Select
‘Fixed
IP’
Yes
(note
a
fixed
IP
address
must
be
requested
from
the
ISP.
Primary
and
secondary
DNS
IP
addresses
are
provided
by
the
ISP.
VPI,
VCI
and
pppoA
VC
Mux
protocol
encapsulation
should
be
filled
automatically
as
shown
below.
If
not
they
can
be
obtained
from
the
ISP,
enter
Next.
From
the
home
page
select
Online
status,
Physical
Connection
to
check
the
WAN
1
Status
is
enabled
as
shown
in
the
example
below:
Assign
the
router
IP
address
according
to
the
user’s
network
plan.
In
the
example
below
the
LAN
address
of
the
router
was
set
to
192.168.1.120.
Select
the
General
Setup
LAN1
details
page
to
enter
the
LAN
network
addresses.
Enter
the
LAN1
IP
address
for
example,
192.168.1.120
and
subnet
255.255.255.0.
If
the
router
is
to
be
used
as
a
DHCP
server,
enable
DHCP
and
enter
the
start
IP
address,
number
of
addresses
and
the
Gateway
as
required.
Ensure
this
range
of
addresses
does
not
duplicate
those
assigned
by
the
iPECS
MFIM.
Enter OK, and the following screen is displayed, Enter OK
Enter OK, ensure PC is set to DHCP and it will be assigned an IP address from the router.
To
set
up
port
forwarding
for
the
SIP
trunks,
re-‐enter
the
router
admin
and
select
NAT,
Open
Ports
and
Index
1
Tick
Enable
Open
Ports.
Comment
field:
enter
desired

the

Firewall
The
iPECS
is
programmed
to
only
accept
incoming
calls
from
the
registered
SIP
domain
(see
iPECS
PGM133
Invite
Acceptance
-‐
from
domain
only).
For
additional
security
the
router
firewall
can
be
set
to
only
accept
SIP
traffic
from
the
Inet
server.
This
will
depend
on
whether
the
site
uses
other
external
SIP
services
and
the
particular
customer’s
situation.
