Course Description:
Purposive Communication is a three-unit course that develops students’ communicative competence and enhance their cultural and intercultural awareness through multimodal task that
provide them opportunities for communicating effectively and appropriately to a multicultural audience in a local and global context. It equips students with tools for critical evaluation of a variety
of texts and focuses on the power of language and the impact of images to emphasize the importance of messages responsibly. The knowledge, skills, and insights that students gain from this
course may be used in their other academic endeavors, their chosen disciplines and their future careers as they compose and produce relevant oral, written, audio-visual and/or web-based
output for various purposes.

Program Learning Outcomes:

1. Develop mastery of subject matter/discipline ;


2. Facilitate learning using a wide range of teaching methodologies and delivery modes appropriate to specific learners and their environments ;
3. Develop innovative curricula, instructional plans, teaching approaches, and resources for diverse learners;
4. Apply skills in the development and utilization of ICT to promote quality, relevant, and sustainable educational practices;
5. Demonstrate a variety of thinking skills in planning, monitoring, assessing and reporting learning processes and outcomes;
6. Practice professional and ethical standards sensitive to the local, national, and global realities;
