Design Assignment - A

As a final outcome, please send across a 10-20 min video recording/loom with you
walking us through both your solutions to [email protected]. This helps us get a
great sense of how you went about thinking through and designing them first
hand.

[Our goal here is to understand how you think, break down and consider scenarios
involved. The tasks below are designed to assess your logical and creative
thinking.]

Supporting submissions:
● Links to the prototype / Figma/XD file, any other documentation
1. Design Task

A VC fund often receives the financials of a portfolio company in the form of PDFs. A
typical PDF looks like this:

For them to run analytics on top of this, it’s important to extract all of this information and
store them. Create a high fidelity UI flow that allows them to do the following:

1. Import a statement in PDF form

2. Extract the table from the PDF, and allow users:

● To edit the headers of the table

● To map each of the first column values to one of the pre-existing set of default
values.
○ Assume pre-existing set to consist of:
■ { Revenue, Sales, Purchase, Product Expense, Manufacturing
Expense, Other Expenses, Other Taxes, Misc, Earnings, Net income,
Income, Cost, etc..}
● To rectify and modify the numeric values of the table
3. Save the extracted table information.

Note:

● The extraction, although fairly accurate, can sometimes be erroneous. Thus, users
prefer referring to the original PDF often when trying to rectify the values.
● Please consider designing for basic error scenarios and edge cases. We
understand that some of the scenarios could be complex and can take time to
design, and in those cases we recommend at least documenting all of them clearly.
● It’s important that the flow is prototyped for us to get a good sense of how you
imagine the workflow to interact.
● Feel free to give the product a name and add dummy elements/nav for
completeness.

We fully understand there are some open ended elements in the above task
and that is intentional. The goal for this is to allow you to take strong opinions
and think on behalf of the user.

2. Growth Task

1. Swiggy offers a "One" membership on its app which allows users to avail
free deliveries and discounts on Instamart and other services.
2. Now, imagine you've just been hired as the product designer at Swiggy, and
are tasked to increase “One” subscription conversions - for both new and
renewal subscriptions. How would you go about it?
3. Please limit your solutioning to adding comments on screenshots of their
app, or high level wireframes.
