    1 Install the magnet.

    Required material
    MAGNETIC STAND 9999696

    Note
    Install it on the track rod.

    2 Assemble the tool.

    Required material
    DIAL INDICATOR 9989876

    3 Compress the ball joint.


    Note
    Compress it as far as it will go.
    Use a suitable tool.

    4 Set the dial indicator to zero.

    5 Check the play.

    6 Install the tool.

    Play check, ball joint 2 mm

    Required material
    MANDREL 9998511

    Note
    If the axial play is greater than or equal to the value, replace the ball joint. The only wear
    limits that should be taken into account for the annual test is axial play. Any lateral play
    detected must always be confirmed that the axial play is greater than or equal to the
    value before failure.
