Activity # 2

The problems:

1. A researcher is interested in studying the effects of different

diets and exercise regimes on weight loss. The researcher
categorizes the diets into three types (A, B, and C) and the
exercise regimes into two types (X and Y). The objective is to
determine if there are any significant differences in weight loss
based on the type of diet, type of exercise, and if there is an
interaction between the diet and exercise regime.
Ho: There is no significant difference in weight loss based on the
type of diet and exercise regimes.

H1: There is a significant difference in weight loss based on the

type of diet and exercise regimes

.
Interpretation:

Six observations are found for every combination of food and

activity, according to the analysis. For DIET A, 11 for DIET B, and 7
for DIET C, the mean values for EXERCISE X are 7, and for
EXERCISE Y, the mean values are 6.167, 8.833, and 6 for DIET A,
B, and C.

Conclusion:

While there is no significant difference in the results between the

two forms of exercise, there is a substantial difference in the results
across different diets. The success of each diet, however, appears to
be dependent on the kind of exercise that is done, as evidenced by
the strong interaction between diet and exercise type. This indicates
that while nutrition has a significant impact on results, the ideal
diet may change based on the type of activity.

2. A company wants to evaluate the performance of two different

types of training programs (Online and In-person) and two
different levels of experience (Junior and Senior) on employee
productivity. The goal is to determine if there are significant
differences in productivity based on the type of training, level
of experience, and if there is an interaction between the
training type and experience level.

Ho: There is no significant difference in productivity based on the

type of training program.

H1: There is a significant difference in productivity based on the

type of training program.
Interpretation:

The mean scores for the Junior group are 61.3 for online and 71.4
for in-person, according to the summary statistics, while the mean
scores for the Senior group are 79 for online and 86.8 for in-person.
Within each group, the variations are comparatively small,
indicating data consistency.

Conclusion:

The Junior and Senior groups, as well as the Online and In-person
formats, differ greatly from one another. Furthermore, a noteworthy
interaction has been observed between the student type (Junior or
Senior) and the form of instruction (Online or In-person). This
suggests that the impact of the instructional mode differs based on
the student type. Overall, the results are greatly influenced by the
instructional style and student level.
Activity # 3

The problems:

1. A researcher wants to compare the effectiveness of three

different teaching methods (Traditional, Online, and Hybrid)
on students' exam scores. The researcher collects exam scores
from students who were taught using one of the three
methods. Each group consists of 8 students. The data are
shown below:

Ho: There is no significant difference in exam scores between the

three teaching methods (Traditional, Online, and Hybrid).

H1: There is a significant difference in exam scores between at

least two of the three teaching methods.
Interpretation:

The average exam results and variations for each category are
displayed in the summary statistics: - Traditional group: 79.1 on
average, with a 13.56 variance - Online group: 89.25 on average,
with a 3.79 variance - Hybrid group: variation of 27.413 and
average score of 83.75 Exam results between the groups show a
substantial difference, according to the ANOVA results. With a p-
value of 3.2E-37 and a between-groups F-value of 1573.86, both
significantly less than 0.05, the results show statistical significance.
4.05175 is the F critical value.

Conclusion:

Exam results show a substantial disparity between the Traditional,

Online, and Hybrid groups. Student performance is greatly
impacted by the style of instruction; of the three, the Online group
had the highest average exam score, indicating that it might be the
most successful.

2. A health researcher wants to compare the effects of three

different diet plans (Diet A, Diet B, and Diet C) on cholesterol
levels in adults. The researcher collects data on the cholesterol
levels (measured in mg/dL) of adults following each of the
three diet plans for 8 weeks. Each group consists of 10 adults.

Ho: There is no significant difference in cholesterol levels between

the three diet plans (Diet A, Diet B, and Diet C).

H1: There is a significant difference in cholesterol levels between

at least two of the three diet plans.
Interpretation:

There is a substantial variation in the subjects' cholesterol levels,

according to the ANOVA results. The very high F-value of 2874.81
and the p-value of 4.1E-51, which is substantially below the critical
value of 4.00687, attest to the statistical significance of the
fluctuations in cholesterol levels.

Conclusion:

As a result, we draw the conclusion that the study participants'

cholesterol levels varied significantly.
