Interdisciplinary Projects

Project Work - A project work is a planned study involving a task or problem taken up either
individually or in a group, to apply classroom and laboratory transactions.

Interdisciplinary projects - are learning activities that involve multiple subjects and skills, such as
Maths, Science, Art, Humanities, Languages, Computational Thinking.

They can help students develop deeper understanding, research critical thinking, creativity skills.
Global Issues - Topics

The team may choose any one topic from the list below :

How the IDP Works - Step by Step process

❖ The learner selects a Global Issue they would want to address.

❖ The learner justifies why the global issue is important to address at two levels
➢ At individual - Why is it important to you?
➢ At societal level - How can the world at large benefit if the issue is identified.
❖ Learners must integrate skills and knowledge from diverse disciplines. This entails:

a. Exploring scientific aspects, discerning causes and consequences as well as making informed decisions (Science).

b. Compiling and visually representing data through graphs, staying informed about prevailing trends.(Maths)

c. Conducting research and formulating solutions to overcome the issue at local, national and global level.(Global
Perspectives).

d. Presenting ideas in visual or audio formats utilizing contemporary technology.(Computational thinking)

e. Sharing reflections on the entire Project (English)

How the IDP Works - Step by Step process

❖ Role of Educators - Share the plan with your respective subject facilitator how will you include the subjects in
your projects. Facilitators to continuously share feedback and assess the progress of the project from time to
time.
❖ Planning the Outcome - Detailed plan on how to carry out the action
❖ Taking Action
❖ Evaluate the effectiveness of the Action and produce evidence for the same
❖ Carry out a Reflection on the project
Steps to create the Action Plan

1. Define your action plan

2. Objective of the action plan - Why are
you conducting the action? The rationale
for your action.
