 Install Network simulator like Cisco packet tracer.

This is the main menu like any other application; this has Menu options like File,
Menu Edit, Option, View, Tools, Help. Basic commands like Saving, Print etc can be
1 managed from here.
This is the toolbar for the File and Edit menu where we have icons of the menu
Main Tool Bar
2 options. Buttons for Copy, Paste, Zoom etc
You can switch between the Logical and Physical workspace.In the logical

workspace we create new Cluster, Move Object , set the tiled background. See

Common Tools Commonly used tools are place in this tool bar, eg. Select, Delete, Move Layout ,

Real-time This is a toggle bar where you can move between Real-time and Simulation mode.
5 /Simulation Bar You can capture, forward, play packets using the simulation Mode.
In this space you see all the devices and connections (Cables types) You can select

 Saving a PKZ
Packet Tracer allows you to save your topology (PKT) as well as any custom device icons and backgrounds that
you applied to on the Logical Workspace and Physical Workspace to a save file called a PKZ.
 Create simple network in simulator.
 Open the cisco packet tracer application

 In this example we use two workstations and 1 switch. Select the icon of the PC that sits in the left corner
and then put on display

 Next select switch and put on display


 connect 2 PC, select the straight cable, create an image such as this, when the wires yet is green then the
PC yet to connect

 Do the configuration IP address host PC0 by means of double-click image PC0, then click the tab of the
Desktop and choose menu section the IP Configuration so that the display is visible on the picture below
 Add the IP Address 192.168.123.1 and Subnetmask will come out automatically
 each PC with a different IP address

 To test the connection between the two nodes using the "ping" utility. To start the ping from PC0 PC1
headed, double-click the PC0 making it appear properties window for PC0, then select the tab of the
Desktop, then select the menu Command Prompt so that it appears look like Figure below.
 Do a "ping" by way of typing: ping [ip_address_target] to do ping towards PC1 which has IP address
192.168.123.2 is by way of type in: ping 192.168.123.2
If the configuration you do is correct then the produced output like this:

 Create and Demonstrate all possible network topologies using simulator
