MY DAILY JOURNAL

DAY 1

Today marked the first day of my On the Job Training (OJT) in the guidance office, and
it was quite eventful. The day began with an orientation conducted by Sir Arnel Fillarca, where
he discussed the house rules and guidelines for our OJT program. It was a comprehensive
overview that helped set the expectations for the weeks ahead.
After the orientation, we had the opportunity to choose our advisers for the duration of
the program. I decided to work under Ma’am Kendrid Behis and Sir Aldrin Panaguiton, as I
believe their expertise and guidance will greatly benefit me during this experience.
Following the adviser selection, we were tasked with organizing the files and envelopes
in the file room. It was a meticulous process that required attention to detail, but it was satisfying
to see everything in order by the end of the task.
In the afternoon, I worked on creating a PowerPoint presentation about writing research
for Ma’am Kendrid's upcoming seminar. It was a challenging but rewarding task, as it allowed
me to apply my knowledge and skills in a practical setting.
Overall, it was a productive first day, and I'm looking forward to the learning
opportunities and experiences that lie ahead in my OJT journey.

DAY 2

My second day of my OJT in the guidance office was filled with various tasks that kept
me busy and engaged throughout the day.
In the morning, I continued my work on the PowerPoint presentation for Ma’am
Kendrids’ seminar titled "Writing Research Paper: Do It Right! Mastering Thesis Writing and
Research Paper Skills for College Students." I focused on creating the outline of the presentation
and its overview, ensuring that the content would be clear and organized for the audience.
Additionally, I was assigned to draft a letter for the dean of the participants in college.
This task required attention to detail and adherence to professional writing standards, which I
found both challenging and rewarding.
Later in the morning, Sir Aldrin tasked me with distributing the psychological test report
of maritime students, first-year and transferee. It was important to handle this task with
sensitivity and confidentiality, ensuring that the reports were delivered to the right individuals in
a timely manner.
In the afternoon, Ma’am Kendrid called me and provided me with a list of tasks that
needed to be completed. The list was extensive, and I realized that I would have to manage my
time effectively to complete everything on time. Despite the workload, I remained focused and
determined to complete the tasks to the best of my abilities.
After receiving the list of tasks, I continued working on making the program for the
seminar. This involved organizing the schedule, arranging the speakers, and ensuring that
everything was in place for a successful event.
Overall, day 2 was challenging but rewarding. It taught me the importance of time
management and attention to detail, skills that will be valuable in my future endeavors.

DAY 3

A day filled with important tasks and interactions with various departments within the
college.
In the morning, I visited the dean of the College of Maritime to inquire about the
availability of their interns for taking the neuropsychological test. I also wanted to know the total
number of interns who would be taking the test. The dean provided me with the information I
needed, which helped me plan the testing schedule more efficiently.
After my meeting with the dean, I started tallying the school leavers of the College of
Criminology. This task required meticulous attention to detail, as I had to ensure that all the data
was accurately recorded. It was a time-consuming process, but I remained focused and
committed to completing the task to the best of my abilities.
In the afternoon, Sir Aldrin asked me to photocopy some papers. This task was relatively
straightforward but required me to be organized and efficient in managing the photocopying
process.
Overall, day 3 was a productive day where I had the opportunity to interact with different
departments and contribute to the efficient operation of the guidance office. I look forward to
more learning opportunities in the days ahead.

DAY 4

Today, I focused on communication and organization tasks, which kept me busy and
engaged throughout the day.
In the morning, I started by editing an announcement about the psychological test results
of the College of Criminology and College of Computer Studies. The announcement informed
students that their psychological test results would be available from March 4-6, 2024. I used
Canva to edit the announcement poster, which was a convenient tool for creating visually
appealing graphics. Once the editing was complete, I posted the announcement to the Guidance
and Testing Center page on Facebook, ensuring that students were informed about the upcoming
release of their test results.
After posting the announcement, I worked on creating a distribution list for the students
to sign. This list would serve as proof that they had received their psychological test result report,
ensuring that the process was well-documented and organized.
In the afternoon, I continued working on tallying the school leavers of the College of
Computer Studies. This task required attention to detail, as I had to ensure that all the data was
accurately recorded. Additionally, I arranged the psychological test results alphabetically, which
further helped in organizing the documents for easy distribution.
Overall, day 4 was a productive day where I focused on communication and organization
tasks. I learned the importance of clear communication and effective organization in ensuring
that tasks are completed efficiently.

DAY 5

Today was a day filled with a variety of tasks that challenged me and helped me further
develop my skills.
I started my morning by arranging the College of Computer Studies' psychological test
results alphabetically. This task was important for ensuring that the results could be easily
distributed to the students.
Shortly after, Sir Aldrin arrived at the office and tasked me with photocopying 27 copies
of an excuse letter for the peer facilitator. This task required attention to detail to ensure that all
copies were accurate and legible.
Following the photocopying task, Sir Aldrin assigned me to create a PowerPoint
presentation about mental health and wellness seminar. This task was challenging but rewarding,
as it allowed me to research and present important information that could benefit the seminar
attendees.
In the afternoon, Ma'am Kendrid had a client, and I was tasked with conducting an intake
interview of the client. This was a valuable experience that allowed me to practice my
communication and interviewing skills in a real-world setting.
After conducting the interview, I distributed the psychological test results of the students
in BS Criminology, CCS, and Maritime. This task required organization and attention to detail to
ensure that each student received their results promptly.
After distributing the test results, I continued to work on the PowerPoint presentation for
the mental health and wellness seminar, ensuring that it was informative and engaging.
Overall, day 5 was a busy but fulfilling day where I had the opportunity to work on a
variety of tasks that challenged me and helped me grow professionally. I look forward to more
learning opportunities in the days ahead.

DAY 6

I arrived early at the office and noticed that Ma'am Jen and my classmates needed help
with cutting call slips in the guidance office. There was too much paper to cut. I offered my
assistance and spent some time helping them with the task. After finishing, I approached
Gabrielle Abenes to see if she needed help with anything. She mentioned that she was arranging
the distribution list for departments handled by Sir Arnel, so I helped her with that task as well.
Later in the day, Sir Aldrin asked me to layout for their resource speaker and guest in the
culmination of the peer facilitator and his incoming seminar. I worked on editing the layout with
the help of the peer facilitator, making sure everything was organized and presentable. Once we
were satisfied with the layout, I printed it out.
After completing the layout task, I went back to cutting call slips to help out wherever I
could. Overall, it was a productive day, and I'm glad I could contribute to the office's activities.

DAY 7

Today marked my last day of OJT in the guidance office, and I wanted to make sure it
was a productive one. In the morning, I focused on continuing to edit the layout for Sir Aldrin's
task, ensuring everything was well-organized and presentable. Once I was satisfied with the
layout, I moved on to cutting the call slips in the guidance office, helping to keep things running
smoothly.
In the afternoon, I went to the testing center to get answer sheets of psychological tests
for the interns of criminology. They are scheduled to take the neuropsychological examination
on March 16, 2024. However, the testing center lacked copies of the answer sheets. I promptly
went to the admin to request photocopies of the answer sheets for the interns.
Later in the day, I packed and prepared the prizes for the culmination of the peer
facilitator's event, making sure everything was in order. Additionally, I took on the responsibility
of distributing the psychological test results of the criminology and computer science
departments, ensuring that all relevant parties received their results in a timely manner.
Overall, it was a busy but fulfilling day, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to have
contributed to the guidance office during my time here.
