A. Preliminary Activities

a1. Opening prayer

Alright, let us all stand up for our prayer. Pease

bow your head and close your eyes. And let us
pray. (The students will stand and pray.)

Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God's love

commits me here. Ever this day, be at my side, to light,
to guard, to rule, to guide. Amen.
a2. Greetings
Good morning, my dear students!
Good morning teacher, and good morning classmates!
Alright, how are you class?
We are good teacher.
Have you eaten your breakfast?
Yes, teacher!
Alright that's good.
a3. Classroom management
Before you sit down, kindly pick the pieces of
paper in your area, and arrange your chairs. (The students will pick up the pieces of paper in their
area, and will arrange their chairs.)
If everything is done, you may now take your
seats.
a4. Checking of Attendance
For our attendance, when I call your name just
raise your hand and say present.
Alright, let’s start with ________.
(The teacher will check the attendance.
a5. Review
Before we proceed to our new lesson, let’s have
a short review.
Alright then, class, can you still remember what
is the topic we tackled yesterday? Yes, teacher!

Okay class, what is all about? solves routine problems involving division numbers

There are ways in solving word problem.
Understand– Read the problem and identify the
question.
Plan – Choose a strategy and think of how will
you solve the problem
Solve – Try your strategy to solve the problem.
Check and look back – analyze if your answer
is correct.
Very good, class! I’m happy that you still
remembered the topic we tackled yesterday.
B. Motivation

Class, do you want to play a game?

Yes, teacher!
Alright. This game is called “Solve me right!” I
have prepared division by 5 and 10, all you need
to do is give its quotient.
Is everything clear, class? Yes, teacher!
Okay, if you know the answer just raise your
hand, and answer as fast as you can.
Now, let’s start!
20 ÷ 5 = n
4
Right! The quotient of 20 divided by 5 is 5.
50 ÷ 5 = n 10
Right! The quotient of 50 divided by 5 is 10.
100 ÷ 10 = n 10

Right! The quotient of 100 divided by 10 is 10.

30 ÷ 10 = n 3

nRight! The quotient of 30 divided by 10 is 3.

6
60 ÷ 10 = n
Right! The quotient of 60 divided by 10 is 6.
12
120 ÷ 10 = n
Right! The quotient of 120 divided by 10 is 12.
Great job, class! Give yourselves a “ang galing-
galing ko clap.”
1-2-3 stamping of the feet
1-2-3 clap
Ang galling-galing ko! (The students will do the ang galing-galing ko clap.”)

Before moving on to our lesson for today, let’s

sing a song together.

Math song – I love math

(The teacher will play the song.)
(The students will sing altogether.)
C. Discussion

The song is nice, am I right? Yes, teacher!

The song said “I love math. It is so exciting, very

interesting”.
Do you agree with that? Yes, teacher!
Do you love math? Yes, teacher!
Alright. Math is really exciting and very
interesting. Also, in order to find math exciting
and interesting we should make an effort to love
math and numbers, with that solving math
problems will be easier and fun for you.
So, let’s proceed to our lesson for today, a while
ago we played a game called “Solve me right!”
We solve division by 5 and 10. Am I right? Yes, teacher!
Our lesson for today is all about solves routine
problems involving division numbers by 5 and
10.
It is almost the same with our lesson yesterday,
the only difference is, if yesterday it is division
by 2,3 and 4, now it is division by 5 and 10.
Now, let’s have again the meaning of routine
problem. Please listen carefully. (The students will listen carefully.)
Routine problem - It is a word problem that
have the instant way to answer.
(The teacher will explain.)
If yesterday we used the 4 ways in solving word
problems which are the understand, plan, solve
and check and look back.
Now we will use the 5 steps in solving word
problems which is the AGONA.
Let’s know what is AGONA.
A – sked – What is asked?
G – iven – What are the given facts?

What are the operation/s to be used?
What is the number sentence?
What is the answer?
Alright. Very good!
Now, let’s have an example:
Problem solving dividing by 5.
Who wants to read the word problem 1? (The students will raise their hands.)
Okay, ________ please read. (The student will read the word problem 1.)
1. Zach’s mom brought in 25 pizza rolls for the
5 children at the party. How many pieces did
each children received?
What is asked?
How many pieces did each children received?
What are the given facts?
25 pizza rolls and 5 children or 25 ÷ 5
What are the operation/s to be used?
Division
What is the number sentence?
25 ÷ 5 = n
What is the answer?
Each children received 5 pieces pizza rolls.
Problem solving dividing by 10.
Who wants to read the word problem 2? (The students will raise their hands.)

Okay, ________ please read. (The student will read word problem 2.)

2. Mother bought 50 apples, she will give it

equally to 10 kids. How many will each kid
received?
What is asked? How many will each kid received?
What are the given facts? 50 apples and 10 kids.

Problem solving dividing by 10.
Who wants to read the word problem 3? (The students will raise their hands.)
Okay, ________ please read. (The student will read word problem 2.)
3. Teacher Levie has 80 books. She placed the
same amount of books on each of 10 shelves.
How many books are on each shelves?
What is asked? How many books are on each shelves?

What are the given facts? 80 books and 10 shelves.

What is the number sentence? 80 ÷ 10 = n

What is the answer? There are 8 books on each shelves.

Great job, class!

Is everything clear, class? Yes, teacher!
None, ma’am.
Do you have any questions?

D. Application
So, now let’s see if you can apply what you
have learned.
Let’s try this!
Direction: Read and solve the problem using
AGONA.
Carol baked 35 chocolate chip cookies to share
with her 5 friends. If she gave an equal amount
of chocolate cookies to each of her friend, how
many cookies did each person get?
Who wants to try to answer on the board? (The students will raise their hands.)
I need 5 volunteers.

(The teacher will call students who will answer

on the board.)
What is asked? How many cookies did each person get?
What are the given facts? 35 chocolate chip cookies and 5 friends
What are the operation/s to be used? division
What is the number sentence? 35 ÷ 5 = n
What is the answer? Each person gets 7 cookies.
Very good, class!
Now class, I want you to think and reflect.

Yes, teacher!
Is sharing important?
So, why sharing is important?
To make friends and to learn to share what you have.
When was the last time you shared something

experiences.)
What do you want more giving or receiving?
(The students will answer base on their perspective.)
They said is better to give than to receive.
Giving and sharing your blessings will make you
happy. Giving leads to a greater happiness to a
giver.
Sharing is important in many ways, by sharing
we can give joy and smile on faces of others.
They said “share your blessings” when you are
capable of sharing something to your friends, to
your love ones, do it or even with street people.
