THE BASICS OF
MINDSTORM
PROGRAMMING
ABOUT ME!
• VEDANT ABHYANKAR – 7 years, student of III
Std in Sharada Mandir School, Miramar.

• I Live and Breath LEGO!

• I love LEGO because it helps me create anything

I want!

• LEGO Robotics is my passion

•I also play tennis and chess and the keyboard.

THE BRICK
• The Programmable EV3 Brick is the
heart of any Mindstorm Robot.
• Programs are executed from the Brick.
• Programs are also downloaded to,
created from the Brick.
• The ports marked 1,2,3 and 4 are Input
ports used for Sensors and the ports
marked A,B,C and D are the output
ports used for Motors.
THE MEDIUM MOTOR
• The Medium Motor is like the
hands of the Mindstorm Robot.
• It helps in moving parts of the
Robot by receiving instructions
from the Brick.
THE LARGE MOTOR
• The Large Motor is like the legs of the
Mindstorm Robot.
• It helps in moving the Robot from
place to place and taking turns.
THE COLOUR SENSOR
• The Colour Sensor is like the eyes of the
Robot.
• It helps in finding color differences and
sending data back to the Brick for
different actions.
• It emits a set of color wavelengths. The
color wavelength that is reflected back,
and not absorbed, determines the color
of the surface.
THE TASK
The task before us is to make the Robot here
go from Point A to Point B, clearing all the red
fruits, which are the obstacles.
LEGO TECHNIC

And this is how I got mad about LEGO as I
could create my own cars or vehicles
So my dear friends,
• Now lets build a FORK LIFT today.

• Do you know what a FORK LIFT is?

• A FORK LIFT is a vehicle with a device in front used to lift and

move heavy materials over short distances

• Can you tell where you have seen a FORK LIFT?

So lets get started……….
