Very Good class!

ESTABLISHING CLASSROOM STANDARDS
“I will just remind you about our rules in our
science class.”
Respect others.
Eyes on me.
Stay in your seat.

Try your best!

A. ENGAGE Motivation: GUESSING ME!

Children, what do you
see/observe inside the classroom? Tables and chairs teacher.

Yes, you are correct. What else do you see? Notebook and pencil
Very good. Children, you must know that teacher.
there a lot of things that you can see in
side this room and especially outside.

I will show pictures of objects and all you have to

do is to identify the names of each object.

- Bicycle
- Table
- Milk
- Balloon (heart)
- Faucet, Gripo

Very Good Children!

B. EXPLORE The teacher will show a picture of each phases
of matter and students will identify the item
whether if it’s Solid, Liquid, and Gas.

Activity Proper:
IDENTIFY ME!!

Direction: Identify the SOLID in the picture?

(The student’s will may
answer very)
Direction: Identify the LIQUID in the picture? (The student’s will may
answer very)

Direction: Identify the GAS in the picture?

(The student’s will may
answer very)

Have you all already done children?

“Yes, teacher”
Great!
Now children when I say “Matter” (3x) “Solid”
(students will say “Solid, Liquid and Gas”) “Liquid”
“Gas”
C. EXPLAIN When we say “matter”
It is anything that occupies space and has
weight/mass. (Repeat after me)

All the things around us is a matter. Even the

air that we inhale and exhale is also a matter.

What do we call the things around us?

“Matter teacher”
Children, there are three phases of matter.
These are solid, liquid and gas.

Solid
The first one is solid. Solids have definite
shapes that occupy definite spaces. Solids can
be held and seen.

Liquid
Now, the second phase of matter is liquid
It has a definite volume and takes the shape of
the container. Liquid flows easily because its
particles have enough space and have less
attractive force. The spaces in the particles
allows, particles to be compressed a little bit.
Gas
It takes the volume and shape of the container.
Gas particles are far from each other that is why
they have the weak attractive force and can floe
easily. They occupy the entire space available.
The large spaces in between particles allow
particles to be compressed easily.

E. ELABORATE Application
Direction: Let us have another exercise.
Give an example of each phase of matter and (The student’s answers
draw it in a separate of paper? may very)

Very good. You were all able to identify the states

of matter.
Generalization
Again, what do we call the things around us? “Matter teacher”
Good.

What are the three states of matter? “Solid, Liquid and Gas
teacher”
What are the importance of understanding matter? “The importance of
understanding matter it
has mass and it occupies
some space. Therefore,
all these things that we
can touch and see are
made up of matter.
Very good! Children,

The importance of understanding matter is

because everything around us is made up of
matter and matter cannot be created or destroyed
but instead, they just transformed into a different
form. It's like unlocking the secrets of the universe
at the most fundamental level.

Let’s give everyone a fireworks

Clap! The students will do the
fireworks clap.

F. EVALUATE Direction: Write S if it is solid, L if it is liquid or G

if it is gas. Write your answers inside the box
beside each picture.

1. S
2. L
3. S
4. S
5. L
6. G
7. S
8. G
