Objective:
To develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy for a fictional business,
leveraging the knowledge gained from the foundational lessons on social media
platforms, profile setup, platform-specific features, social media terminology, and
successful strategies.
Project Outline:
1. Project Introduction:
o Business Overview: Create a fictional business or personal brand. Define
the industry, target market, and overall business goals.
o Brand Identity: Develop a brand identity, including the brand’s mission,
vision, values, and unique selling proposition (USP).
2. Platform Selection and Justification:
o Platform Analysis: Choose three major social media platforms (Facebook,
Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok) that align with your business goals and
target audience.
o Justification Report: Write a report explaining why these platforms were
chosen, including an analysis of the target audience, platform features, and
potential reach.
3. Profile Creation and Optimization:
o Profile Setup: Create professional profiles for your fictional business on the
selected platforms. Ensure profiles are complete with profile pictures, bios,
contact information, and relevant details.
o Profile Optimization: Optimize the profiles for maximum visibility and
engagement. Include SEO-friendly keywords in bios and utilize platform-
specific features.
4. Content Strategy Development:
o Content Calendar: Develop a one-month content calendar for each
platform, including a mix of posts (e.g., images, videos, stories, articles) and
post frequency.
o Content Creation: Create sample content for each platform, ensuring it
aligns with the brand identity and engages the target audience.
5. Engagement and Growth Strategy:
o Engagement Plan: Develop a plan to engage with your audience on each
platform. Include tactics like responding to comments, participating in
relevant groups or hashtags, and collaborating with influencers.
o Growth Tactics: Outline strategies to grow your following, such as running
promotions, leveraging paid ads, and using platform-specific features like
Instagram Reels or LinkedIn Articles.
6. Performance Metrics and Analysis:
o KPIs Identification: Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure
the success of your social media strategy. KPIs may include engagement
rate, reach, follower growth, website traffic, and conversion rates.
o Analytics Setup: Set up analytics tools for each platform to track
performance metrics. Tools may include platform-native analytics
(Facebook Insights, Instagram Insights) and third-party tools (Google
Analytics, Hootsuite).
7. Implementation and Monitoring:
o Execution Plan: Implement your social media strategy over a one-month
period. Post content according to the content calendar, engage with the
audience, and monitor performance.
o Monitoring Schedule: Establish a regular schedule to review analytics and
adjust the strategy as needed based on performance data.
8. Final Report and Presentation:
o Performance Analysis: At the end of the project, analyze the performance
data and compare it to your initial goals and KPIs. Identify what worked well
and what could be improved.
o Project Report: Compile a comprehensive report detailing the project
process, strategy development, implementation, performance analysis, and
lessons learned.
o Presentation: Create a presentation summarizing the project findings and
present it to the class or a selected audience. Include key highlights,
