Introduction
This document covers the installations steps for Oracle 11 G and O Live,
follow the steps as written and you will have O Live installed successfully on
your PC.
The installation steps of Oracle 11G are divided into English users and other
languages users.

Go to control panel, region and languages, in format section, choose the format: "English
(United States)" then click on apply, when done restart the PC.
In the same page of Region and language, click on additional settings and in the decimal
symbol, choose "."
Also in the Region and Language page, click on keyboards and languages, click on Change
keyboards, then choose in the Default input language " English (United States) - US
From your Oracle CD, double click on the ‘Setup’ of Oracle. The 'Select Installation Method'
screen displays. Select 'Standard Edition (2.8 GB)' in installation type and uncheck the option
create started database; click Next.
In case you get a 'Warning' on a requirement, select the requirement and click on 'Retry' so
that the system will check it and verify it. Click Next.
The Oracle Installation is now in progress. You need to wait until it is 100% complete. Click
NEXT.
Type OMEGADB1 inside the ‘Global Database Name’ and ‘SID’ fields; OMEGADB1 is the
database name you want to call your database. Click Next.
Select the option 'Use the Same Administrative Password for All Accounts' then type the
password MANAGER inside the 'Password' and 'Confirm Password' fields. Click Next.
The 'Database Content' screen displays; uncheck all the components; click on standard
database components and also uncheck all the components.
Click Next.
The database creation is in progress. You have to wait until it is 100% complete.
Click Finish.
From your Oracle CD, double click on the ‘Setup’ of Oracle. The 'Select Installation Method'
screen displays. Select 'Advanced Installation'; click NEXT.
The 'Select Installation Type' screen displays. Select 'Standard Edition' and then click on the
"Product Languages" Button.
The ‘English’ language is selected by default. You can add another language, if needed
(Arabic for example), by selecting the language from the left side of the screen and clicking on
the ‘Arrow’ button or you can add all languages (recommended) by clicking on the ‘Double
Arrow’ button.
The ‘Install Location’ screen opens displaying the path where Oracle will be installed; click
Next.
The ‘Product-Specific Prerequisite Checks' screen displays; the system will automatically
check all requirements. Once the check is complete, the status of all requirements should be
'Succeeded' and you will get the message '0 requirements to be verified'.
The 'Upgrade an Existing Database' screen displays. Select 'No'; click Next.
Note that this screen displays only in case a database already exists.
The Oracle Installation is now in progress. You need to wait until it is 100% complete. Click
Next.
This option is useful in case you will be using other language then English; in this case you
need to define the character sets for this language. For the ARABIC language for example,
you need to select 'AR8MSWIN1256 – MS Windows Code Page 1256 8-Bit Latin/Arabic'.
Click Next.
The 'Creation Options' screen displays. Select 'Create Database', click Finish.
The database creation is in progress. You have to wait until it is 100% complete.
Click Finish.
Open the Registry Editor using REGEDIT (from Start, Run: type REGEDIT) and change the
following values for the language:
Click “Next” to continue with the Setup Program or click “Cancel” to quit the Setup. If you click
“Next”, the following window displays:
You can go back to the previous window by clicking on the “Back” button.
If you click “Next”, the following window opens displaying the Omega Software License
Agreement:
It is highly recommended that you use the default path which is C:\OMEGASYS.
If the PC where you are installing the software is a stand alone PC or is acting like a Server
for the Omega Software select YES, shortcuts of “Start the database” and “Omega Com.
Server” will be automatically created in the Startup menu.
If this PC is a workstation or a back office pc linked to the main Omega Database then select
NO.
Click “Next” to continue with the Setup Program, the following screen displays:
You should wait until you get the following message: “The operation was completed
successfully”.
A folder named “Omegasys” will be created inside the C drive where you can find all modules
related to Omega Software.
You can find also a shortcut to different modules of Omega inside Start, Programs, Omega
Software.
