• Permanent or long-lasting situations. • Timetables and schedules.

2 It is used with adverbs like:

• Always • Somtimes • Everyday • Never

FORM
1 To form the Present Simple we add –s to the infinitive of
the verb in the 3rd person singular (he, she, it)
ตัวอยาง: • I live. • He/She/It lives.

2 But when the verb ends in:

a. –o, -ss, -sh, -ch, we add –es

c. a vowel followed by –y, we just add -s
ตัวอยาง: I play. he/she/it plays.

63
FORM
3 To form the negative and the interrogative we need
the auxiliaryverb to do in the present simple. This means
we have to add –es in the 3rd person singular (he, she, it)
while the main verb will be used in the infinitive.
ตัวอยาง: • Do you like? You don’t like.
• Does he like? he doesn’t like.

Passive Tense
Most verb forms have an active and passive form.
Object MORE Subject
(Passive) important than (Agent)
We use a passive sentence when the object (passive) is
more important than the active subject (agent) , or the agent
(performer of the action) is unidentifiable.

To create a passive sentence:

1. Name the object (which becomes the subject of the sentence)
2. Substitute the active verb with the verb ‘to be’ in the same tense
3. Add the past participle (3rd column) of the active verb.
4. If the agent /performer of the action is necessary or useful,
put ‘by’ then name the agent
5. Finish the sentence.
