JOB DESCRIPTION
SUMMARY
The Network Administrator ensures the proper operation of the network and related
computer equipment, so users can use them to accomplish their tasks. The goal is to
maintain network, server, and infrastructure reliability so that BWS staff can be more
productive in carrying out their duties. In addition, the Network Administrator must
comply with all BWS policies and procedures; must have good problem solving, customer
service, communication, time management, and prioritization skills and the ability to
interact successfully in a team environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Management reserves the
right from time to time to vary the duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Network Administrator in collaboration with the Systems and Data Administrator and Business
Information Systems Specialist can reasonably ask for assistance from the Helpdesk Technicians in
the undertaking of projects, companywide upgrades and scheduled maintenance.
QUALIFICATIONS

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyse and interpret IT related technical documents/journals as well documents
such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals. He/she must
demonstrate the ability to prepare reports, procedures and correspondence, as well as the ability to
speak effectively before groups of customers or employees and to present information to senior
management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to
interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical, programmatic, and
diagrammatic form. Ability to deal with abstract concepts and variables.
