1. Apart from internal conflicts , what were the challenges faced by the Roman Empire in
the early centuries of the Common Era ?
2. Why did Romans refer to people who were not Romans as Barbarians ?
3. After the Hun dominance began to decline by 453 CE, explain the reasons for the
Western Roman Empire to decline.

Section B- (Refer your TextBook and answer any two questions.)


1. Write a short note in about 100 words on the battle of Hadrianpolis.
2. What were the primary causes of the fall of the Roman Empire around 350 CE? Was it a
sudden collapse or a gradual decline?
3. How did Pax Romana affect the lives of people across the Roman Empire, including
citizens, slaves, and non-Roman subjects?
4. Make a cause and effect chart using the events given below.
