Clearing the Cache in your Internet Browser

System upgrades occasionally result in some users experiencing usability issues in eduPay and Recruitment Online.
Where users are experiencing issues with the operation of eduPay or Recruitment Online they are advised to clear the
‘cache’ of your internet web browser.
This process may be described or viewed differently in alternate versions of the internet browser used than displayed
below, if necessary, use the Help menu/tab and search for “Clear Browser Cache” for your browser.
The following should assist you in completing this action in the most commonly used internet browsers. Use the help
function as above if you use an internet browser not included.
Select from:
 Internet Explorer
 Microsoft Edge
 Google Chrome
 Safari (on a Mac)

Internet Explorer
1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Select the Tools menu/button
3. Choose Internet Options
4. In the General tab under Browsing History click the ‘Delete’ button
5. The Delete Browsing History tab opens – ensure the Preserve Favourites website data option is not ticked as shown
below. All other check boxes must be ticked.

6. Click Delete.
7. When complete the Delete Browsing History window will close. Click Apply then OK
8. Completely close your browser (all tabs)
9. Open the browser and access eduPay or Recruitment Online again.

Microsoft Edge
1. Open Microsoft Edge
2. Access the menus as shown below

3. Click Privacy & security, then click “Choose what to clear” in the Privacy & security panel

4. Ensure all checkboxes are ticked and click the Clear button

5. Browser will clear all data; depending on the amount of data held, this may take a few moments. On completion
the screen displays with ‘All clear!’.

6. Close browser completely, re-open and access eduPay or Recruitment Online as normal.

Google Chrome
1. Open Google Chrome
2. Access the menus as shown

3. Click the ‘Advanced’ tab


4. Select the Time Range from the dropdown – All time (as shown)
5. Tick ALL the checkboxes (Browsing History, Download History, Cookies and other site data, Cached images and files,
Passwords and other sign-in data, Auto-fill form data, Site settings and Hosted app data)

6. Click Clear data


7. Close browser (all tabs), re-open and access eduPay and/or Recruitment Online again.

Safari (on a Mac)
1. Open Safari (note steps 2 to 4 only need to be completed the first time, the Develop menu should be available
at all times following this process)
2. Go to the Safari menu item and select Preferences

3. In the resulting window, go to the Advanced tab

4. Scroll to the bottom and tick Show Develop menu in the menu bar

5. Click the new Develop menu item


6. Click the Empty Caches option
