Scripts for VO Challenge

Alright…let’s have some fun and get you behind the mic! Whatever mic you have is fine…even recording
into your phone will work great. The main thing is to record yourself reading the scripts. Get a feel for
what it’s like to be a voice artist!

Below, you will find three scripts. One is for a radio commercial that should be approximately 30 seconds
long. (But don’t sweat it if you can’t get it done that quickly).

The second script is for an eLearning module. Your goal here is to be clear, but keep your energy up.

And the third script is for a chapter of a book. You will be narrating it for an audiobook.

Tips: Read the scripts aloud a few times before recording them. Relax…have fun…add energy…and just
enjoy every second of it.

Script #1
Radio Commercial: Tone should be cheerful and warm. Try to get it
read in around 30 seconds.

default media player will open, allowing you to play the audio.

your voice for each character.

Diane sat in the cozy living room, her hands wrapped around a warm cup of tea, gazing out of the
window as the afternoon sun bathed the room in a soft, golden light. She knew something was different,
a special energy in the air. Kelli, her beloved daughter, and Josh, Kelli's boyfriend of two years, were
coming over for dinner. There was an unspoken excitement in the house.

The doorbell rang, and Diane hurried to the door, her heart skipping a beat. She was eager to greet her
daughter and her boyfriend, who were soon to share some remarkable news.

The door swung open, revealing Kelli and Josh. Their faces were illuminated by an unmistakable
enthusiasm, their expressions lit with anticipation and joy.

"Mom," Kelli exclaimed, rushing into her mother's open arms, her voice filled with excitement.

"Thank you, Diane," Josh said warmly, his voice filled with gratitude. "We're so thrilled, and we couldn't
imagine not sharing this with you."

Diane wiped away happy tears, her voice filled with happiness.

"You've made me the happiest mother in the world," Diane expressed, her voice filled with heartfelt joy.
"This is wonderful news!"

Kelli, her eyes glistening with gratitude, smiled warmly.

"Mom," Kelli said, her voice filled with gratitude, "we knew you'd be excited, but we were still nervous to
tell you."
Diane smiled through her tears, her voice gentle and reassuring.

"Nervous?" Diane replied, her voice soft and affectionate. "Sweetheart, you couldn't have given me
better news. I've always loved Josh, and I can't wait to welcome him into our family officially."

Josh, feeling a deep sense of appreciation, spoke from the heart.

"Thank you, Diane," Josh said, his voice reflecting his gratitude. "Your support means the world to us."

As they all sat down to dinner, the atmosphere was filled with laughter, warm wishes, and plans for the
