other. The car travels 15 km per hour faster than the truck . They pass one
another 4 hours later . What are their speeds?
3. Half the perimeter of a rectangular garden whose length is 6 m more than its
width is 48 m . Find the dimensions of the garden .

1. Solve graphically
4x – y = 4 and
x+y=6
2. The ages of two friends X and Y differ by 5 years , X’s father P is twice as
old as X and Y is twice as old as his brother Q . The ages of P and Q differ by
28 years . Find the ages of X and Y.
SECTION-D
1. A man travels 370 km partly by train and partly by car . If he covers 250 km
by train and the rest by car, he takes 4 hours . However, if he travels 130 km
by train and the rest by car , he takes 18 min longer . What are the speeds of
the train and the car?
