Roll No.:28 Name:Nalawade Pranjal Sanjaykumar
Subject:DSV
Assignment No.:7 Title:Geospatial Visualization
Date: 25-04-24

 Geospatial visualization?
- Geospatial visualizations focuses on the relationship between data and its physical
location to create insights. Any positional data works for spatial analysis.
- Maps are the primary focus of geospatial visualizations. They range from depicting a
street, town, or park or subdivisions to showing the boundaries of a country, continent,
or the whole planet. They act as a container for extra data.
- This allows you to create context using shapes and color to change the visual focus. They
help identify problems, track change, understand trends, and perform forecasting related
to specific places and times.
- Geospatial visualizations highlight the physical connection between data points.

 Types of Geospatial Visualizations :

Choropleth Maps: These maps use different shades or colors to represent different
values of a variable across geographic areas, such as countries, states, or counties.
Dot Density Maps: Dot density maps use dots to represent the density of a particular
phenomenon within a given area. Each dot may represent a certain number of
occurrences or a proportion of the total.
Heat Maps: Heat maps use colors to represent the density of points or events within a
geographic area. Hotter colors (e.g., red) indicate areas with higher density, while cooler
colors (e.g., blue) indicate lower density.
Proportional Symbol Maps: In these maps, symbols such as circles or squares are used
to represent the quantity or magnitude of a variable at specific locations. The size of the
symbol corresponds to the value of the variable being mapped.
Flow Maps: Flow maps show the movement of people, goods, or information between
different locations. Arrows or lines are often used to represent the direction and volume
of flow.

 Uses of Geospacial Visualizations:

1. urban planning
2. environmental science
3. epidemiology
4. business analytics
