1. Explain/define the computer Hardware and Computer Software and give the 5 examples each?

 What is computer hardware?

Computer hardware is a collective term used to describe any of the
physical components of an analog or digital computer. The
term hardware distinguishes the tangible aspects of a computing device
from software, which consists of written, machine-readable instructions
or programs that tell physical components what to do and when to execute
the instructions.

EXAMPLES: MOUSE
MOTHERBOARD
CENTRAL PROCESSESING UNIT (CPU)
POWER SUPPLY UNIT (PSU)
SPEAKER

 Software is a set of instructions, data or programs used to operate

computers and execute specific tasks. It is the opposite of hardware,
which describes the physical aspects of a computer. Software is a generic
term used to refer to applications, scripts and programs that run on a
device.

EXAMPLES: WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER

GOOGLE CHROME
SKYPE
FIREFOX
MICROSOFT

2. Explain what are the Type of computer Hardware and Enumerate them?

1. RAM
RAM (Random Access Memory) is a type of computer hardware that is used to store the
information and then process that information. memory). The use of SRAM is in a cache
memory of CPU. And the DRAM is mostly used in modern computers.

2. Hard disk
The hard disk is another type of computer hardware that is used to store the data in it.
3. Monitor
For the computer hardware, the hardware is another device that is used to display the output,
videos and other graphics as it is directly connected to the CPU. The video displayed by the
monitor uses the video card

4. CPU
CPU (Central processing unit) is the core hardware part of the computer system which is used
to interpret and execute most of the commands using other computer parts i.e. software and
hardware. The CPU is a core part of any PC, laptops, tablets, and notebooks. The CPU is also
called the brain of the computer as every operation is executed in the CPU only.

5. Mouse
It is a hand operator input device that is used to point something on the screen. The mouse can
be wired or wireless. If the mouse is wired it is connected to the CPU directly.

6. Keyboard
The keyboard is another type of computer hardware that is used to give input text, commands
to the computer. The keyboard can be wired or wireless. The keyboard contains, alphabets,
numbers, special characters and other buttons to give input to the computer. It is the input
device that takes input to the user and processes the commands.

7. Printer
The printer is a type of hardware that is used to print something which is seen on the computer
and then transfer that displayed information to paper. The printers can be differentiated based
on size, processing speed, and other factors.

3. Explain the Basic hardware of a PC system?

 Quite simply, computer hardware is the physical components that a computer

system requires to function. It encompasses everything with a circuit board that
operates within a PC or laptop; including the motherboard, graphics card, CPU
(Central Processing Unit), ventilation fans, webcam, power supply, and keyboard
then so on.

4. Give at least 5 examples Input Devices and explain each function?

 Keyboard
Keyboard is the most common and very popular input device which helps to input
data to the computer.
 Mouse
Mouse is the most popular pointing device. It is a very famous cursor-control device
having a small palm size box with around ball at its base, which senses the movement
of the mouse and sends corresponding signals to the CPU when the mouse buttons are
pressed.
 Microphone
Microphone is an input device to input sound that is then stored in a digital form.
 Bar Code Readers
Bar Code Reader is a device used for reading bar coded data (data in the form of light
and dark lines).
 Camera
After capturing photos and videos on a digital camera, it can be connected to a
computer, and the data can be stored for years.

5. Give at least 5 examples Output Devices and explain each function?

 PRINTER
The function of a printer is to create a copy of whatever is sent from the computer to the
printer. Printers take electronic data sent from a computer and generate a hard copy.
HEADPHONES

A computer sends data that is output to headphones in the form of sound.

 SPEAKERS
Computer speakers are hardware devices that transform the signal from the computer's
sound card into audio. Speakers create sound using internal amplifiers that vibrate at
different frequencies according to data from the computer. This produces sound.

 PROJECTOR
As its name suggests, this output device "projects" computer images or video onto a
wall or screen.

 TELEVESION
A television (TV) is fed video and sound data which is output to the user in the form of
synchronized sound and pictures.
6. Explain the System Software and functions of a system Software?

 System software is a type of computer program that is designed

to run a computer's hardware and application programs.
 Function - System software controls a computer’s internal
functioning, chiefly through an operating system, and also controls
such peripherals as monitors, printers, and storage devices.
