Introduction

This business application « Fuel tank » is composed by


the following functionalities : Sommaire

Step 1 : Prerequisite

Loading the 3DR Representation corresponding to the studied "Tank".

The tank can consist of a solid or of a set of


surfaces.

But, Warning in the type of the model containing the tank !!!!!!

The model which contains the tank has to be only of type " PRODUCT " and not type “ 3DPART ”.
Otherwise, the application cannot create the new "3DPART” which contains the results of the application.

If the type of model is erroneous, it is possible to change it by knowing that this modification is
irreversible via a command of the contextual menu " to change in product "

Step 2 : Running the application

Loading the 3DR Representation corresponding to the studied "Tank".

The tank can consist of a solid or of a set of


surfaces.

Active and visible since workshops linked to a 3DR Representation (Part Design, Generative Shape Design...)
Running the business application (appli. métier) :

By clicking, via the bar of menu, " Applis Métier /FuelTank 1.5.5 "

By clicking directly on the Icon of the business Application « Fuel Tank »

If the bar of menus of the application is not visible , make


it active via the menu " Display / Toolbar "

Step 3 : Venting process

Définition of parameters : (1/3)

1 In the tab « Général »,


tick the option « Venting »

2 Select then the concerned entity or entities in the workshop .

3 The selected entity or entities appear(s) in the window « Selected Entities ».

The deletion of a selection is made by means of the contextual menu, choosing the option
« suppress of the list of entities ».

4 In the tab « Parameters »,


Give the values for the different parameters concerning the venting process , necessary for the calculation

5 Validate by « OK »

Be careful!! : OK will be active


only after selection of the fuel tank 4

Step 3 : Venting Process

Results :

Under the product concerned, a new representation is created. This one is then composed of :
1 The model of the tank

2 A new model combining the results of the calculation

Step 4 : Gauging process

Definition of parameters (1/3)

1 In the tab« Général »,


click on the option « gauging »

2 Select then the concerned entity(ies) in the working session

3 The or selected entity(ies) appear in the window « Selected entities ».

The cancellation of a selection is made using the contextual menu « Suppress of the list of entities ».

4 In the tab « Parameters », enter the different parameters concerning the « Gauging » necessary for the
calculation .

5 Validate by « OK » these values.

default, editable by the user

Results

Under the concerned Reference , a new representation is created .This reference is composed :

1 Of the model of fuel tank.

2 Of a new model regrouping the results of calculation

Step 5 : Dead Volumes

Definition of parameters(1/3)

1 In the tab « General »,


click on the option « Dead Volumes » 1

2 Select then the or entity(ies) concerned in the current session .

Under the Reference, a new Representation is created, composed :

1 Of the model of fuel tank.

2 Of a new model regrouping the results of calculation

Results (2/2)

To visualize better the result, the user can put the fuel tank in transparency and display the dead volumes (and
their bounding boxes) :
Click, via the right button of the mouse on the 3DRepresentation « Fuel tank », then « Properties »
Choose the tab « Graphique » and put the fuel tank in transparency.

In the 3Dreference containing the results of calculation , hide all the entities and display only those that
interest you . .
