equipped Lab facilities in Trichy, since 1985. As we have expatriation in many areas we would initially

Objective:
This Value Added Course focuses on hands-on IoT concepts such as Sensing, actuation and
communication. It covers the development of Internet of Things prototypes including devices for Sensing,
Actuation, Processing, and Communication to help you develop skills and experiences. The Internet of
Things is the next wave, world is going to witness. Today we live in an era of connected devices the future is
of connected things.
Internet of Things, the characteristics of devices and applications in IoT ecosystem, building
blocks of IoT, Various technologies making up IoT ecosystem, IoT levels, IoT design methodology, The
Physical Design - Logical Design of IoT, functional blocks of IoT and Communication Models.
Working of Controlled Systems, Real-time systems with feedback loop e.g. Thermostat in
Refrigerator, AC, etc. Connectivity models TCP-IP versus OSI model, different type of modes using wired
and wireless methodology, the process flow of an IoT application.
Sensor measuring physical quantities in digital world eg. Light Sensor, Moisture Sensor,
Temperature Sensor, etc. Actuator moving or controlling system eg. DC motor, different type of actuators
Controller, role of microcontroller as gateway to interfacing sensors and actuators, microcontroller vs
microprocessor, different type of microcontrollers in embedded ecosystem.

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was organized a One Day
Workshop On “PCB Design and Fabrication” for Second year ECE Students on 12.10.2023. The function
was inaugurated by Honorable Chairman Dr. K.Vadharaajen, Roever Group of Institutions, Dr.
M.Periyasamy Principal In charge delivered the Presidential address, Dr.Kalaiselvan Professor and Head
gave Felicitation address and Mr. T.Azhagesvaran Program Coordinator given the welcome address.
The workshop was aimed to provide knowledge about complete PCB Designing using simulation
tool to test electronics circuit in software environment and also its fabrication. Mr. K.C.Tamil Venthan,
Director of Industrial Training Centre, LIFT India, Trichy, have executed the workshop appreciably to make
it successful to enhance the students skill level. This workshop will be helpful for students for circuit
development of their final year project. Totally 59 students and 12 faculty members have participated in this
workshop, where every student got a chance to work individually on a separate PCB.
