Faculty Election
Acacia National High School – 2nd School Learning Action Cell (SLAC) was successfully held last
September 30, 2022 (Friday) at exactly 11:30 in the morning lead by Filipino Department and ended at
2:30 in the afternoon, moderated by Mrs. Risel Roquero and Mrs. Rochelle Illustrisimo -Intano and Jovi
Deopido as the scribe.
The session started with a prayer leaded by , followed by Nationalistic Song, NCR Hymn, Malabon
Hymn and Sangay ng Malabon Hymn. For the Opening remarks, Mrs. Rosalinda Gabriel, Filipino
Coordinator, was sharing some insights and expectation of the SLAC.
The first speaker, Mrs. Camille Bate, deeply discussed about the Child Protection Policy. She
emphasized the roles of a teacher in different stakeholders of the education institution. According to
her, a teacher should be devoted to his/her duty and doesn’t forget professionalism. Teachers have an
important role to play in child protection. This lies not only in the detection and reporting of possible
cases of child abuse but also in multi-disciplinary teamwork, and in contributing to the ongoing support
and monitoring of the abused child.
The Second speaker, Mr. Juvinile Viceda, talked over the topic about the Peer Support Program
(PSP). He stressed out that peer support is the way that educators support each other on and off
campus. It includes how teachers collaborate, network, socialize, vent to each other, and help each
other in times of need. Peer support among teachers can occur within the school building or outside of
school during personal time.
The Thirds speaker, Ms. Esmeralda Quinzon, discoursed the topic Comprehensive Sexuality
Education (CSE). She elaborated that the Comprehensive sexuality education (CSE) is a curriculum-based
process of teaching and learning about the cognitive, emotional, physical, and social aspects of sexuality.
It aims to equip children and young people with knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values that will
empower them to: realize their health, well-being, and dignity; develop respectful social and sexual
relationships; consider how their choices affect their own well-being and that of others; and understand
and ensure the protection of their rights throughout their lives.
