WRITING GUIDELINES

PROJECT GUIDELINES
1. Students must carefully select the company for internship, the internship should be of 4-6
weeks for UG students and 6-8 weeks for PG students.
2. The students are required to incorporate necessary changes in their respective reports as and
when suggested by their mentors.
3. Students are required to maintain an adequate attendance record. Faculty would maintain an
Attendance cum Progress Record of Students.
4. The project work must be a bonafide and original one, which is carried out individually by
the student under the guidance of the project guide.
5. A certificate from the Guide duly signed must be enclosed in the Project Report as
provided in the Format for Project Report.
6. Contents and format of the project report must be in the format prescribed at the end of the
document.
7. Evaluation scheme would be as suggested in this document

SUBMISSION OF THE FINAL REPORT


1. After incorporating necessary changes in the draft report as suggested by the guide and the
panel, each student will work and incorporate the same to the satisfaction of the guide. The
Project work should be done personally by the student under the guidance of the project
guide and in conformity with the approved Project Proposal.
2. A certificate from the Guide should be enclosed in the Project Report as provided in the
Format for Project Report. The Project Report must be in the Format prescribed for Project
Report given at the end.
3. Introduction to the company will be an essential part of the project report.

4. Faculty Guides would ensure students’ compliance with the major project guidelines.
5. Viva will take place before a panel as per the implementation schedule (will be
communicated soon) for the purpose of Evaluation of Project.

PUBLISHING RIGHTS
a) The university will have the right to use the Project Report in any manner that may be
deemed as expedient.
b) In case the author / faculty guide wishes to publish the report, or any paper based on
that, due acknowledgment to the university that it was a project report prepared for
the All UG and PG of the Institution has to be made by him/her.

GUIDELINES FOR REPORT WRITING

A PAGE NUMBERS
1. Page should be numbered consecutively and clearly.
2. No page number should be indicated on Title Page, Certificate from Guide, Declaration
from Student and Acknowledgment, however pages are to counted from title page.
3. From Title Page to Abstract page Greek numbers should be used.
4. From main text to end of the report Indian numerals should be used.
5. Appendices should be numbered using Arabic Numerals (Ex. Appendix I, Appendix II)

Left : 1.25 inch
Right : 0.75 inch
Top : 1.0 inch
Bottom : 1.0 inch

C FONT
Font : Times New Roman
Font Size : 12pt for Text
12/13/14pt for Subheadings
16pt for Main headings
Line Spacing : 1.5
Text Alignment : Justified for body of text
Centre for Chapter Headings
Justified for Subheadings

No Underlining of text is allowed in the report.

D TEXT NUMBERING
The following format may be followed for numbering: -
1. Heading1 (16 pt, Bold)
1.1 Heading2 (14 pt, Bold)
1.1.1 Heading3 (13 pt, Bold)
1.1.1.1 Heading4 (12 pt, Bold)

E SUBMISSION OF FINAL REPORT


1. Number of copies to be submitted
Two copies of the final report need to be submitted. One copy must be spiral bind,
submitted to the faculty guide two weeks before final submission and second copy
i.e., the copy for evaluation must be hard bound. The hard bind copy has to be shown
to the viva panel before submission to the faculty guide.
2. Project binding
The Copy for Evaluation must be HARD BOUND and the contents be embossed in
golden on the front of the copy. Colour of the black for PG students and maroon for
all UG students.

F REFERENCES
References must be cited in standard APA Format. The references would be written in
alphabetical order.
