B: Learning Outcomes

Students following this module should be able to demonstrate an appropriate understanding of the
principal theories and concepts applied in Human Resource Management.

Specifically, students should be able to:

 Be able to critically apply, within the Human Resource Management context, complex
theories and concepts ;

 Be able to critically evaluate Human Resource Management, its impact on the organisation,
and processes that help develop effective organisations;

 Be able to critically assess the factors that can influence effective Humana Resources
Management: and,

 Be able to critically interpret and synthesize understanding and knowledge, relative to the
principles of Human Resources Management in different types of organisations.

Assessment Brief:
C: Assessment Task

Choose an organisation that you have studied and researched during this module and critically
evaluate its Human Resources Management practices.
Your assignment should address the following issues:

* A definition of Human Resource Management, and the practices and theories that have been
applied in the organisation you have selected.
*Include a brief outline of the nature of the organisation you have analysed.
* Identify and analyse the various approaches and structures present in the organisation, and how
these are aligned in the context of effective Human Resource Management.
*A detailed evaluation of the effectiveness of each practice/ process/policy, giving reasons for
relative success/failure.
* Ideas for improving Human Resource Management, practices/processes/policy, comparing on
the literature and personal experience of other situations and international business groups and
organisations.
*An overall evaluation of the effectiveness of the success of the business activity in terms of
effective Human Resource Management and its contribution to competitive advantage.

Required: Structure of the assignment:

a. Introduction:

 Introduction of the chosen organisation.

 The key factors of your assignment and why your choice is important for
discussing Human Resource Management.

b. Main body:

 Overview of the literature of the relevant theories with regard to Human


Resources Management practices.

 Critical reflection on the performance of success in Human Resource


Management, based on your personal experience and observation.

 Application of the theories, practices, models, and processes, with regards to the
skills required in Human Resource Management, which need to be developed and
demonstrated to achieve organisational functionality.

c. Conclusion:

 Summary of your whole assignment giving a critical evaluation of Human


Resource Management and why it is so important for the present and future
Global Economies.

processing or presentation software you are using, not a scanned document. Do not upload

 Do not upload documents directly from Google Drive and One Drive.
 The file must be no larger than 40MB.

G: Document Format

 Assignment/Report format.
 The font size must be a minimum of point 12 Arial (or equivalent).
 Line spacing in the body of the assessment must be 1.5 lines.
