I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson the student should be able to;
a. identify the basic arms and hand movements in cheerdance,
b. value the importance of the health benefit in participating in the cheerdancing activities; an
c. execute the proper basic arms and hand movements in cheerdance.

II. Subject Matter


Topic: Cheerdance
Sub-Topic: Basic Arms and Hand Movements in Cheerdance

A. Preparation
1. Daily Routine
a. Greetings

2. Review of the Previous Lesson
1. Who among you remember what is the lesson that we discussed last meeting?
2. Explain what is Hip-hop Dance?
3. What is the health benefit of Hip-hop Dance?
3. Warm-up Exercise
The class is tasked to do a warm up exercise guided by the teacher.
4. Motivation
The class is divided into three (3) groups. They are about to create a short yell.

B. Presentation of the Lesson


Task 1.
The class is asked if they have any ideas on what will be content of the discussion based on that
activity.

Task 2. Discussion
The class is involved in the discussion guided by the teacher regarding to the basic arms and
hand movements in cheerdance.

CHEERDANCE- is coined form the words, cheer and dance. To cheer is to shout out words or
phrases the may help motivate and boost the morale of a playing team and perform better during
a game. Dance, on the other hand, is a physical activity where one expresses emotions or
gestures while performing bodily movements usually in time with rhythm.

Cheerdancing rooted from cheerleading. Cheerleading is the performance of a routine, usually


dominated by gymnastic skills such as jumps, tumbling skills, lifts and tosses combined with
shouting of cheers and yells to lead the crowd to cheer for a certain team during a game or sport.

HEALTH BENEFITS OF CHEERDANCE

BASIC ARMS/HAND MOVEMENTS


 Beginning stance and cheer stance
 “T” and haft “T” positions
 Clasp, Clap
 High “V” and low “V”
 “L” and diagonal positions

C. Application
The class is divided into four (3) groups, they are tasked to participate in the activity wherein
they will pick a pompom, and on that pompoms the different basic arms and hand movements
are written. They are tasked to execute the basic arms and hand movements that they will pick.

D. Generalization
1. Explain what is Cheerdance?
2. Give at least 5 basic arms and hand movements.
3. What is the importance of participating cheerdance in our health?

IV. Evaluation
The students are tasked to do a 30 minutes simple dance with basic arms and hand movements.

V. Assignment
The students are tasked to have an advance reading of basic jumps in cheerdance.
