Objectives: By the end of this lesson, students should be able to:

1. Define and understand the basic concepts of computer number systems (binary,
decimal, and hexadecimal).
2. Convert numbers between binary, decimal, and hexadecimal systems.
3. Apply the knowledge of computer number systems in real-life scenarios.
Values:
• Accuracy in calculations.
• Perseverance in solving problems.
Content/Topic: "Apply Conversion of Computer Number Systems"
Learning Resources/Materials/Equipment:
• Whiteboard and markers
• Visual aids (charts or diagrams)
• Worksheets with practice problems
• Computers or calculators (optional)
Procedures:
4.1 Introductory Activity (10 minutes): Begin with a brief discussion on why
understanding computer number systems is important in technology. Then, ask two
questions:
1. What are the different number systems used in computers?
2. Why is it essential to convert between these number systems?
4.2 Activity (15 minutes): Present a step-by-step guide on how to convert numbers
between binary, decimal, and hexadecimal systems. Provide examples and involve
students in solving conversion problems.
4.3 Analysis (10 minutes): Distribute worksheets with 5 conversion problems related to
the topic. Instruct students to solve these problems individually.
4.4 Abstraction (10 minutes): Provide 5 multiple-choice questions with 3 options each,
which are related to the topic of number system conversions. Discuss the correct
answers as a class.
4.5 Application (15 minutes): Divide the class into 3 groups:
• Group 1: Reporting - Each student in this group will share an example of how
computer number systems are used in technology.
• Group 2: Coloring - Students will color a diagram showing the conversion
process of a number from binary to decimal.
• Group 3: Role-Playing - Students will act out a scenario where they convert a
computer-related value from hexadecimal to decimal.
4.6 Generalization (10 minutes): Discuss at least 3 questions that generalize the topic,
such as:
1. How can understanding computer number systems benefit you in everyday life?
2. In what industries or fields is knowledge of number system conversions
particularly important?
3. What challenges might you face when converting between different number
systems, and how can you overcome them?
5. Assessment/Evaluation (15 minutes):
Instructions: Read each question carefully and choose the correct answer.
