Chapter 1 For Safe Use of the Product


For the safe use of the product, be sure to read the instructions below.

1.1 For Users of this Manual


This manual is solely designed for technicians to perform detailed settings, maintenance and troubleshooting for
this product.
Use of this manual is restricted to those who are qualified or authorized to perform the service.

1.2 Warning Symbols


This manual uses the following symbols to increase awareness of possible dangers or harmful situations to the
user, and to guide in the safe operation of the product. Be sure that you fully understand the contents of this
manual and follow the instructions herein.

Chapter 2 Overview of MCL View


MCL View displays the working status of each module in the VM-7 Monitoring System as well as configuration
status.
Four monitors (VM-7B and/or VM-7) can be connected to the MCL View.

2.1 Description of functions


This section describes the basic functions that are available on the MCL View.

2.1.1 Warning display function

Warning display function includes display function of the DANGER, ALERT, and OK alarms.

 DANGER (warning) alarm


When the measurement value exceeds the DANGER alarm set value, DANGER alarm status is activated,
and the DANGER alarm indicator will light.

 ALERT (caution) alarm


When the measurement value exceeds the ALERT alarm set value, ALERT alarm status is activated, and
ALERT alarm indicator will light.
Also, when the level of the input signal sent from the transducer is out of the range of the gap alarm set
value, ALERT alarm indicator will light.

 OK (Abnormal Input) alarm


When the level of the input signal sent from the transducer is not normal, OK alarm status is activated,
and OK indicator will flash.

2.1.2 Control function


 DANGER Bypass
DANGER bypass is a function to disable the DANGER alarm. This function is used when setting the
warning or during maintenance or inspection.
On the MCL View, DANGER bypass of the VM-7 monitor can be turned ON/OFF.
When the DANGER Bypass function is used, there is no output from the contact that is related to the
DANGER alarm even if the measurement value exceeds the DANGER alarm set value.

 Channel Bypass
Channel bypass is a function to disable all outputs from the channel. This function is used when setting
the warning or during maintenance or inspection.
On the MCL View, channel bypass of the VM-7 monitor can be turned ON/OFF.
When the Channel Bypass function is used, there is no output from the contact that is related to the
warning even if the measurement value exceeds the warning set value.

2.1.3 Other functions


 Sequence status display
In order to avoid warning output due to transient excessive vibration that occurs during the machine
startup, and shutdown the Sequence function is used to expand the setting range for the DANGER and
ALERT alarms only during the time when transient excessive vibration is expected to occur.
If the warning set value exceeds 110% of the monitor range, the machine is not protected.
MCL View indicates the sequence status of VM-7 monitor.

 10-pole High-pass filter (10-pole low-cut filter) status display


The High-pass filter (low-cut filter) function is used to eliminate the frequency that is less than the set
value.
MCL View indicates the 10-pole high-pass filter status of VM-7 monitor.
To use this function, setting on each module must be made in advance by using Device Config.

 Peak hold status display


The Peak hold function is used to keep the maximum values of measurement.
MCL View indicates the maintained value on the measurement value display section and bar graph
display section.
Only Rotor Speed, Rotor Acceleration and Reverse Rotation channels of the Tachometer & Eccentricity
Monitor Module are provided with this function.
To use this function, setting on each module must be made in advance by using Device Config.
Peak Hold resetting See “4.2.2 Channel reset window P.28”.

 First-out indication function status display


First-out indication function is a function to identify the channel that output the alarm the earliest.
MCL View flashes the ALERT indicator of the channel that output the alarm the earliest.
To use this function, setting on each module must be made in advance by using Device Config.

Chapter 3 Installing MCL View and Address


Settings
3.1 System Requirements
System requirements that must be satisfied for installation of MCL View are as follows.

Personal Computer type PC/AT compatible personal computer


Processor Intel Pentium-compatible
(1GHz or higher processor clock speed recommended)
Memory 1 G Byte or higher recommended
Display 1024 x 768 or higher-resolution video adapter and monitor
HDD Space 10 G Byte of available hard-disk space (Including trend data)
Drive CD-ROM drive
Ethernet communication 10/100BASE-T
Operation system Microsoft Windows XP Professional ® with SP3 or later (32bit)
Others Microsoft Windows installer 3.1® or later
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5® or later

3.2 Installation/Uninstallation

<Preparation prior to installation>

Before installation, please complete the following.


 Close all other applications in use.
 Exit any virus protection programs.
 Disconnect from the Internet.
 When using a screen saver, change the settings so that it won't be activated during installation.
 When using the power saving function for the display or hard disk, change the settings so that it won't be
activated during installation.

3.2.2 Installation

1 Load the MCL View CD into the PC.


The installer will automatically start up.
2 Follow the steps that appear on the screen.
3 The installation of MCL View is complete.
A short cut for “MCL View” is created, which can be accessed by selecting [All Programs], then
[infiSYS RV-200] from the [Start] menu.

3.2.3 Uninstallation

To uninstall the MCL View, go to Start-up Menu/Settings/Control Panel and select "Add/Delete Programs".

3.3 Address settings


After the installation of MCL View, an IP address needs to be assigned for "Rack No.".
Assign the IP address that is set to "Local Communication & Phase Marker Module".
 Rack No.1 192.168.8.8
 Rack No.2 192.168.8.9
 Rack No.3 192.168.8.10
 Rack No.4 192.168.8.11

1 Start up MCL View.

2 Press [1] in [Rack No.] displayed at the top of the screen.


The communication information window will appear.

3 Set the IP address and the IP port number, and press [OK].
The communication information window will be closed,
and the IP address will be assigned for "Rack No. 1".

4 Enter the IP address for “Rack No.2” to “Rack No.4” in the


same manner.

3.4 Connecting the monitor


A LAN cable is required to connect the MCL View and the HUB, and the HUB and the monitor.

IP address of each module must set for it not to overlap beforehand when you connect two
or more monitors on the same network.

The LAN cable should be laid down with enough space for other power and control lines.

Point

The update of the data of the "MCL View" stops when the network is cut. At this time, trend data is not
preserved.

Point IP address of the display PC

In general, the IP address of the PC is set to automatic acquisition. When the PC is used as a display PC, it is
necessary to set the IP address manually.
The following values are references for the address setting.
IP Address 192.168.8.254
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Set the address so that it is not the same IP address as that set in Chapter 3.

 Depending on the conditions, the above procedures may have an effect on other networks.
Please set the IP address according to the network administrator's instruction.

3.4.1 Connection on the VM-76□B instrument rack side

For the connection on the instrument rack side, use the upper right port of the instrument rack.
This is applicable for VM-761B (with an Eurotype input/output port panel) as well as VM-762B (a batch output
panel connecter).

3.4.2 Connection on the VM-76□ instrument rack side

For the connection on the instrument rack side, use the forth port from the top at the upper right part of the
instrument rack.
This is applicable for VM-761 (with an Eurotype input/output port panel) as well as VM-762 (a batch output
panel connecter).

The train screen is a screen that shows a simplified

operators to easily identify the layout of the machine
and measurement points.

This button is used to display a trend graph of Trend 1
to 8.
On the trend graph screen, up to 8 measurement points

allowing operators to easily identify changes in
measurement values.

This button is used to display a bar graph screen.
The bar graph screen is a screen that shows the current
measurement value for each channel in the form of bar

4.1.1 Communication information window

The communication information window will appear by pressing each [Rack No.].
This window displays the IP address for connecting to each rack No., and is used to set or change the IP address
of the connection destination.

4.1.2 Detailed information window

The detailed information window will appear by pressing [Set Display].


Alternatively, the window can also be displayed by pressing the measurement value display area in the bar
graph screen.
This window displays values set for the relevant channel and measurement values.

4.1.3 Password Setting Screen

The password input when the processing of the system reset screen or the channel reset screen is executed can
be changed. The default password is "0824". The password cannot be invalidated.
To display the password setting screen, push [password] on the detailed information window.

4.1.4 Draw train window

By pressing the [Draw Train], the draw train window will appear.
This window is used to draw a machine train diagram that is displayed in the train screen.
For details about how to draw a train screen, see “5.1 Train screen creation P.40”.

4.2 Bar graph screen


The bar graph screen is a screen that shows the current measurement value for each channel in the form of bar
graph, allowing operators to easily identify the current measurement value and status.

4.2.2 Channel reset window


The channel reset window is a window that appears when either of the following indicators for each channel is
pressed: DAN, ALT, OK, BYP and D-BYP.
The channel reset window is used to reset the alarms and set the channel bypass or DANGER bypass.

4.4 Trend graph screen


The MCL View keeps measurement data saved every 1 second (Short Term) and measurement data saved every
1 hour (Long Term). Each data that are saved can be displayed by switching the display on the trend graph
screen.
The trend graph screen plots out the values measured during a certain period of time in eight selected channels.
The time line of a trend graph screen can be set within a range of two minutes to three months.

Warranty Provision

Warranty for the product is as follows:

1. Warranty Conditions for Newly Delivered Products

The warranty period for the delivered product shall be 3 years (except for special products and software, and of
which shall be 1 year) from the date of delivery from our factory.
In the event that the delivered product develops any defects within the warranty period for which our company
is liable, the defective product will be replaced or repaired in our factory at our own expense.
In the event that an engineer needs to be dispatched for repair purposes during the warranty period, travel
expenses for the said engineer will be charged in accordance with the company's regulations. The cost of repair
will be borne by our company.
However, the following are excluded from our warranty:

(1) Any defects due to improper handling or operation by the user.


(2) Any defects, the cause of which is not attributable to our company.
(3) Any modifications or repairs made by others than the company or persons commissioned by our
company.
(4) Any handling, storage and operation under severe environmental conditions that exceed the design
specifications.
(5) Any defects due to fire, flood, earthquake, lightning and other Acts of God.
(6) Any consumables.
(7) Any other defects for which we may not be held liable.

Other defects are considered not to be attributable to our company. This warranty applies exclusively to the
delivered product unit, and our company will not be liable for consequential damage caused either directly or
indirectly through a defect of the delivered product.
The warranty period and scope of equipment made by manufacturers other than our company shall be in
accordance with the conditions of respective manufacturer, regardless of the provisions made above.

2. Warranty Conditions for Repaired Products

The warranty for repaired products shall be 6 months from the date of the service on the concerned part.
All the other conditions are as stated in “1. Warranty Conditions for Newly Delivered Products”.
