AUDITORIUM:
◦ Auditorium, the part of public building where an audience sits, the area on which the performance or the object of the
audience attention is presented.
◦ The area of auditorium can increase as per the number of audience members you plan to seat:
50-100 seats: Approximately 100-200 m²
◦ 100-200 seats: Approximately 200-400 m²
◦ 200-300 seats: Approximately 400-600 m²
◦ 300-500 seats: Approximately 600-1,000 m²
◦ 500-1,000 seats: Approximately 1,000-2,000 m²
◦ 1,000-2,000 seats: Approximately 2,000-4,000 m²
◦ Theater seats are often between 19 and 22-inches wide, which is quite a range.
◦ There are two basic seating layouts you can consider for an auditorium: Multiple aisle: This seating arrangement
offers a formal setup, suitable for lecture halls and business conferences. though the seat count can vary, the typical
limit is a maximum of 14-16 chairs per row.
◦ The space between the roof and fall ceiling will be minimum of 3m to 4m to accommodate HVAC ducts , lighting and
electricity.

AUDITORIUM:
LOBBY:
The lobby is located inside the primary entrance to the auditorium.
It offers a comfortable space for gathering as well immediate walk
space to box-office, stairs and elevators to the upper level. The area
needed for lobby can differ according to the number of people. For a
person 0.9 sq m to 1.4 sq m is needed.

SEATING:
Volume of space for 1 person is 3.5 m3 to 5m3
Width to length ratio is 2:1
Height of the auditorium is 7 to 9 m
Aisle width is 1.2m
Chair size 0.5m x 0.5 m
The length of the auditorium from the edge of the stage should be

Shared Dressing Rooms: Approximately 200 to 400 square feet, accommodating multiple performers.
◦ Restrooms:
Purpose: Separate restrooms for performers and crew, often located close to dressing rooms.
Dimensions: Each restroom can be around 50 to 100 square feet, with accessible options requiring additional space.
◦ Storage Rooms:
Purpose: For storing costumes, props, and other equipment.
Dimensions: Generally about 100 to 300 square feet, depending on the volume of items stored.
◦ Technical Booth:
Purpose: A control room for lighting, sound, and other technical aspects of the performance.
Dimensions: Typically around 150 to 200 square feet, with good sightlines to the stage.
◦ Practice Room
Purpose: A dedicated space for performers to rehearse and practice their routines or lines. It may also be used for vocal warm-ups or choreography.
Dimensions:
◦ Standard practice rooms usually range from 200 to 400 square feet, allowing enough space for movement and equipment.
