Session Detail

This session provides an overview of PureData for Transactions, a new member of the PureSystem
Family and explains how your mission critical, highly scalable transacational databases can be made
available in minutes.
Lunch Break - 12:45 PM to 02:00
This session talks about the PureData system for Operational Analytics. It touches on the new features
of DB2 10 thats been used to accelerate data warehouse performance. The session explains in great
detail the technical architecture of the Operational Analytics system and how it provides value and ROI
for analytical requirements. In this session we will also look at case studies of two of the largest
implementations in India, in the telecom and banking domains.

Movement Break 02:50 PM to 03:0

Is data volume and growth impacting your application performance, storage space and IT budget?
Learn how to manage your fast growing data through Optim's smarter solutions. Learn how you could
retain the required data and dispose the rest while meeting all your business and compliance
requirements
Tea Break 03:50 PM to 04:10 P

Are you facing the challenge of managing a database warehouse and meeting the performance SLAs?
Large volumes of data, complex queries, large amounts of aggregation adds to the complexity of
managing database warehouse performance . Optimizing queries can help significantly in getting the
best mileage out of your warehouse. From our years of experience tuning performance in customer
environments, we have come up with best practices to improve query performance

This session explain over view Guardium functionality and presents a case study on Credit Information
Bureau Limited, India (CIBIL).
As part of the financial industry, CIBIL faces heavy regulations and constant external threats, In
addition, they operate very complex, distributed data centers. Credit Information Bureau Limited (India)
needed a centralized security approach that would scale across a complex, distributed enterprise. After
evaluating a range of security solutions, they implemented IBM InfoSphere Guardium Database
Activity Monitor software. From a centralized web-based console, the new solution addresses all
database activity-monitoring requirements across its heterogeneous environment, enabling it to define,
integrate, protect and manage information in a trustworthy manner between its systems. Movement Break 10:20 AM to 10:3

This presentation will focus on tools and best practices to move applications and products from Oracle
to DB2 LUW with minimal effort, risk, and quick ROI.

Movement Break 11:20 PM to 11:3

Attend this presentation to learn about often overlooked but very important tips and tricks to
understand upgrading databases. Are you looking for details about what will change when you
upgrade? Do you know what will not change? What new features will be implemented when you create
a new database, as opposed to upgrading your existing database? Planning your upgrade is much
easier if you know these best practices.
Lunch Break - 12:45 PM to 02:00

InfoSphere Optim Performance Manager is the defacto state of the art monitoring tool for all version
and configuration of DB2 - from 9.1 to 10.5 and be it single instance, DPF of PureScale. There are lot
of metrics in key metrics of DB2 which are presented in OPM in a more consumable and useful way.
Still it might take DBAs to get used to it and maximize the potential of the tool.

In this presentation some key workflow based approach is presented which help users to get to the
problem determination quickly in a logical and progressive way. These uses cases and workflows are
developed based on field experience and best practices which are broadly applicable in most of the
customer scenarios for quick and deterministic complex database problem solving.

Movement Break 02:50 PM to 03:0

InfoSphere Guardium is widely used to secure and audit large heterogeneous environments that
include DB2, Informix, Netezza, Oracle, SQL Server and more. Deployments usually start with a set of
policies derived from external regulations/compliance requirements or from internal policies. These
policies become the basis of every deployment and are, by far, the most important element in an
implementation. The InfoSphere Guardium policy engine is very sophisticated and functional,
supporting a wide range of requirements. This session describes the capabilities of the policy engine,
using some real-world examples to explore advanced capabilities. Basic, prior knowledge of the
InfoSphere Guardium solution is assumed.

Tea Break 03:50 PM to 04:10 P

Traditionally, business requirements must be translated from their original expressions into technical
designs and code. This approach creates risk, increases the opportunity for errors due to incorrect
interpretations, adds complexity, increases rigidity and increases the cost of changes. However, if you
implement a system in which business users can use WODM/ILOG to drive and create business rules
directly in DataStage and QualityStage jobs, you can help reduce risks, avoid errors and increase
agility. The end result is that integration should be more easily aligned to your ever-changing business
and IT landscape. This session will introduce users to the relevant use cases, integration methods and
topologies. Session also provides deep insight on Data Click

Data, Data .....Data is today’s hot topic. It’s everywhere, literally. Some examples …..
Facebook generates around 15 terabytes of new data every day.
Google generates 24 petabytes every day.
Twitter generates 8 terabytes of data per day (or 80 MB per second).
Data driven enterprises also generate substantial amount of data every day.
According to IDC, there is 50% of data grows every year and IT gets only 1% IT budget.
How can IT clean up legacy data, retire applications and optimize, while retaining the required
data?
How does IT efficiently determine which of several thousands of legal obligations apply to which
departments, employees and information assets? IT will be puzzled with which data to retain, till when
? How to relate them to legal obligations and retrieve the specific data from archives.
Join this session to learn how IBM ATLAS and other ILG products
Enable IT to manage information by its value and legal obligation
Break down silos to transform information management
Enable IT to control its destiny which leads to Efficient eDiscovery, Value Based Retention, Smarter

• Cross-suite centralized user management simplifies user administration round-the-clock infrastructure support
and application support. This model has become increasingly popular in delivering B2B solutions.

The key characteristics of SaaS that differentiate it from other delivery models, the user benefits and
the vendor benefits it provides have been instrumental in driving it to success. This has changed the
way customers adopt delivery models and has brought a paradigm shift in the way customers look at
capital and operational expenditure. In this light, it is imperative to look at why SaaS is the way
forward, especially in the context of IBM being a SaaS leader with over 70 applications and having a
foothold in crucial Growth Market Units where YOY growth is greater than 10%.

“As a Service” has become a catch phrase that canPage 99 with any service delivery that need not be

on-premise. IBM, apart from providing B2B solutions on the cloud, is also equipped to provide
business analytics, prescriptive retail analytics, hosted e-commerce solutions and a host of other
services which leaves the competition way behind in the cloud arena.

Edition is integrated with IBM WebSphere Commerce to provide advanced catalog management
capabilities for retail domain.

InfoSphere Optim Performance Manager helps businesses improve database and application
performance and reduce costs. It does so by providing DBAs and other IT staff the information needed
to manage performance proactively and prevent problems before they impact the business. This hands
on session will enable users to identify emergent problems, diagnose root cause, solve and prevent
the performance issues to reoccur.

Asset oriented industries look to increase uptime of assets and increase product quality (reduce scrap)

-Provide predictive, prescriptive and descriptive analytics with BA s/w components

-Utilize SPSS DM, Modeler, C&DS, and Cognos BI as primary analytic assets
-Enable scalable repeatable solution for asset intensive industries to better manage asset information
product quality processes
-Solution that can monitor, analyze, and communicate, based on information captured from
instrumented devices
-Collect and process data and present information to help a human operator take action
-Provide an integrated Predictive Maintenance workbench combining and integrating analytics and
data Integration elements

Use a simulated load on a TM1 system to create an environment as close to real life as possible,
Using that system show how Operations console can identify servers in "distress" in real time and alert
administrators who can then find the problem and fix it. Use the same simulated environment to collect
information for later analysis and show how it can be used to identify trends and give early warning of
possible problems.
See the latest features and capabilities in the most recent release of
IBM Cognos Business Intelligence software. Join us at this session,
