SOP for installing default applications and changing hostname

Windows OS

1. Open the OneDrive link to download the folder containing batch files and applications.

PGP 2025

2. Click on the Download button to download all the files in Zip folder.

3. Once downloaded, open the folder, copy, or extract the entire folder named PGP 2025 and
save it in on the desktop.
4. After copying the folder to desktop, open the folder PGP 2025 and run the PGP 2025 file by
double clicking or right clicking.

5. In a few systems, Windows Defender tries to block the application to run. Please click on More
Info and Run anyway to continue installing.
6. Please do not close this window, the software is getting installed.
Important – Pop-up window will appear multiple times asking for Yes or No, please click on Yes
to install all the software. Few applications will install silently.
Note – Do not close the Command Prompt.
7. Click Install.

8. Click Next.
9. Click Close.

10. Click next to proceed.


11. Click Next.

12. Click Close.


13. Microsoft Office installation will take 20-30 minutes of time depending on internet speed.
Please wait until you see the screenshot below.
Once this is installed, Symantec will install silently in the background.

14. Do not close Command Prompt window, Symantec is installing in the background currently.
Click on Remind Me Later, do not restart the laptop.
15. Click Done.

16. To change the host name, click on Change.


17. Enter hostname in a format including your location and PGID.
Example - MOH-624XXXXX for Mohali and HYD-624XXXXX for Hyderabad. Click OK

18. Click OK

19. Click Restart Later. Hostnames will be updated after restarting the system.
20. Click any key to end the process.
