ACTIVITY DESIGN
I. RATIONALE/BACKGROUND
Under Memorandum Circular No. 2024-053, all the barangay captains are expected
to also conduct community consultation to inform their constituents regarding the road
clearing operations in public roads, streets, and alleys within the barangay jurisdiction.
Barangay Libudon has faced a series of unexpected challenges, including floods and
strong winds, which have caused significant damage to roads and disrupted safe
transportation. Additionally, widespread littering has deteriorated the environmental
quality and hindered efforts toward maintaining a garbage-free community. In
conducting this activity, the youth sectors aimed to enhance road conditions within the
community, remove litter from streets, and raise awareness among local youths about
the importance of proper garbage disposal.
II. OBJECTIVES
1. Improve the condition of barangay roads to ensure safer and more accessible routes
for pedestrians and vehicles.
2. Educate the youth about the importance of proper waste disposal and the impact of
littering on the community and environment.
3. Strengthen community ties by involving the youth in collaborative efforts, fostering a
sense of unity and shared purpose.
III. METHODOLOGY
The SK Councils will spearhead the activity, employing a blend of traditional and
modern communication methods. Traditional methods will involve distributing
announcement letters to youth sectors across the community, while modern approaches
will include posting updates on the official Sangguniang Facebook page. To encourage
participation, volunteers will be provided with refreshments and certificates of
appreciation. A registration area will be established to facilitate smooth event
operations, and an SK official will serve as a guide to ensure that the designated
barangay road is effectively cleared.
